What is the interest in sports?
Honestly, I think to be able to focus on such a thing.. does this make you a brainwashed citizen? Because more important things matter.

Well, naturally it gives an outlet for primitive human emotions such as combat and competition.

Totally agree I don't get it, its as if they want us to concentrate on something to take our mind off whats really happening and what really needs to be fixed.
Ballgames are so illogical I just can not get them.

Combat and competition are not emotions. They're activities. I must strongly advocate some knowledge for yourself before you attempt to disseminate to anyone what is natural to the human condition.

Re: What is the interest in sports?
It is simply entertainment, no more, no less. Just because someone may enjoy watching sports doesn't mean they do not also spend time thinking about "important" issues as well. Most people have many different aspects to their personalities. Some people enjoy watching movies, some people enjoy watching sitcoms, some people enjoy watching football or baseball, some people may read novels for entertainment. Doesn't mean those same people are not also aware of and thinking about world events.

Pitiful how much money is invested into something so brutish, mindless, boring, and wasteful.

Exercise and team playing are one thing.... but some people seem to be way too consumed for it to be healthy.

Re: What is the interest in sports?
I am being a hypocrite on purpose, because apparently I'm slave to other sources of entertainment as well.

Out of all entertainment though, people watching sports and going through great lengths to support their team is in my opinion, the most obvious way to spot a sheep.

To be more clear, I suppose I mean sport FANATICS.

Lighten up, Alice. You can say the same about people who focus on music. Or art. Or reading a book.

Exactly sport is a secular capitalist enterprise. In primitive islamist countries where sport plays a minor role people let out primitive human emotions through ethnic tribalism and religious sectarianism. Sport is a greaf outlet.

Not to mention it generates wealth and creates millions of great paying fun jobs while providing entertainment for free for anyone who wishes to watch. If you dont want to watch or participate then dont. Freedom is a beauficul thing.

Well then I must have been brainwashed since 7 because I've liked baseball still to this day at 33.

There's more to it than derpin down some dogs and beers. What is this guy going to throw? Will this guy continue to swing at this garbage, or wise up?

I enjoy it, it's fun to me and that's all that matters.
