Re: shadow demon/sleep paralysis?
Sleeping in bed I woke up to see a cloaked figure walking slowly toward me. Terrified I could not move digging my fingernails into my husbands arm but he wouldn't wake up. It came closer bent down and kissed me on the cheek. Then I came to and it was gone. What do u think it was? Also it was shortly after I started reading crowley....

I have this. It's thought to be a form of narcolepsy by many neurologists. The hallucinations occur because part of your brain is still dreaming. Although I very rarely have had visual hallucinations I always have audio. Sounds like someone screaming, whispering , growling, etc.

I can't move and it feels like I can't breath. Inside I'm screaming and kicking trying to move. I either fight it and win or fall bal asleep...which honestly feels like dying. It can happen to me several times a night, sometimes 4-5x in a row.

I once had it occur while lying on the couch taking a nap ,my eyes would open but I couldn't move. My dad was in the room staring at me having a conversation with me puzzled by why I wasn't responding. I literally couldn't!! I was paralyzed.

This has been documented for CENTURIES. It was once believed to be a demon called an "old hag" that would sit on your chest and crush you. Which is odd becuse before I ever researched this I once had an audio hallucination dream where an old woman was standing next to my bed yelling at me. It was terrifying.

Google "old hag" youll find the mythology behind it.

Re: shadow demon/sleep paralysis?
It's been a couple of years since my sleep paralysis was really bad, but during those times I would experience it over and over again, a hundred or more times a night. I know that sounds exaggerated, but it's not. It would always happen as I was falling asleep, and at its onset I would always think like something like, "This is it....I'm not going to snap out of this one..", and when I would finally snap out of it, I'd fall right back into it and think the same thing.

boring

Wow I do the same thing and think the same!!! I had it 4 times in a row this morning. I find it's worst when I over sleep.

I'll tell you what's funny... In researching a bit about hypnagogia I recently learned that 'sleep paralysis' can occur not only after you've been sleeping but also before you fall asleep or as you are drifting off to sleep. Several years ago I was living with some family friends and sleeping in there finished basement when I had a peculiar experience one night. I was laying on my stomach trying to fall asleep when I heard this noise that sounded like an animal running across the carpeted floor (like the claws dragging) and then the noise ceased and I immediately felt pressure on my back like something had jumped or pounced on me. I remember being frozen with fear for 3-4 seconds and then I guess I must have eventually drifted off to sleep.

The next morning I could not make sense of what I had experienced because I was absolutely certain that I had not fallen asleep before I experienced that sensation - so dreaming was out of the option for an explanation. To me it sounded like a cat running across the carpet and then jumping on my back. The family didn't own any cats at the time but they used to have a family cat that I knew and remembered. At one point I wondered if it could have been the ghost of the cat, messing with me lol. It wasn't until a few days ago reading about sleep paralysis also occurring before sleep and reading about this reported 'pressure' sensation that people feel on their chest that I finally connected the dots about what I had experienced.

I wonder if sleep paralysis is more or less common between those individuals who sleep on their back as opposed to those who sleep on their stomach. I wonder if that affects the frequency of experiences.

u can experience dreams without going to sleep first, u can induce sleep paralysis at will with experience. if u stare at your eyelids without moving u will see patterns after awhile, little bit longer it can turn into sounds and hallucinations like the hat man if u open ur eyes. people use this to induce full on lucid dreams (because these things u are experiencing are dreams it is very easy to go into a full on lucid dream)
..why don't you take a seat over there

hmm I remember being used to sleep on my stomach when I was little, but after being "grown up" I sleep on my back, and it seems to me atleast, that my sleep paralysis increased after that.

It's also very normal to hear and experience something physical in that state.
you are in that dream state where your mind starts to create illusions, so it will seem very real.

even though I have experienced a lot of the paralysis I sometimes get that feeling of fear when hearing footsteps or noise, Im aware that it is just a dream, but the sensation of being paralysed with fear in an irrational way is still there and hard to shake.

Re: shadow demon/sleep paralysis?
it could be a reflection of what we see in our daily lives.
we often dream of something we have experienced.

I would like to know how a blind person dreams and percieves objects and so forth.

and I know you also mean that the dream world is real in a way, but who knows.

Some dreams feel similar to imagination, but I know that my imagination is just ideas and thoughts put into picture, maybe the dreams are just that aswell, but put into a sort of 3D experience shape.

It is tempting to imagine the paralysis stage/realm as something real, and to some it might feel more real than the real world.

we also see shadow figures when we are afraid and the mood is right, that doesn't make it more or less real though.
but who knows.

what do you think it is?
what do you mean by the same imagery, what is it that makes it the exact same.

Lillith? It felt male and I thiught she went after babies....
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20717309

Kind of, She goes for young men who are artistic, she trades you the ability to do whatever you want with your art in exchange for your soul.
Most of the time she comes to you after you practice a certain ritual, but sometimes she comes to certain people and she teaches you how to perform the ritual if you don't know and she actually gives you they ability without taking your soul.
She came to me and tempted me and taught me the ritual and in one night I learned how to play any instrument with such skill that it was impossible to have learned, I could do things that would normally take years to accomplish, I can think of an idea and lyrics and poetry pour out, sometimes I will use words that I don't even know what they mean and I will look them up and they will be a perfect fit.

Its some real shit look up the names I gave you if you don't believe me.

She is the mistress of reality she spoke the name of God and became another deity and she wants men to bow to her because of Adam's insult.

The biggest crime a person can do in this world is to reveal who the real owners are and what the purpose of this life is all about!

This world is a spiritual prison to Scapegoat the karma of god's on us! A very profitable practice called Energy harvesting! It is being disguised as "Soul reeducation programs".

Those who monitors the programs are portrayed as the enemies of the other group fighting each another.

Like if America started Slavery and Russia was there to make sure it continues. But noone knows they work together!

Interesting..I watched "Shadow People" 2 days ago and thought it would be cheesy, but was pleasantly surprised..supposedly based on actual events and then this thread shows up on front page...

gonna research this a bit more, now..

although, I have to say, I think there is something to the "placebo" effect...
your mind believes, so it works or happens

not saying that is what shadow people are, just pondering the many possibilities...

Re: shadow demon/sleep paralysis?
Ive had tons of these experiences, and ive seen the hat man two or three times and felt his presence a couple of other times.

it all started when i started to delve into conspiracy theories and figured out that it all revolved around the bible and christianity being the truth.

so my pagan mother has made many protection contracts with these spirits (demons) and i lived in her house, so it was like i was trying to break free from them so the attacks started.

i would call the name of jesus and everything would stop.

there was one time where i masturbated watching porn knewing i was sinnning and went to sleep only to get attacked by demons big time, when i called in jesus name, jesus didnt helped me ahahaha. so i had to wake up, sit on the bed, then try to sleep again only to be attacked again, multiple times.

every time i would see the hatman i was somewhat happy, as in honored with his presence at my bed side. so i ever treat them as friends saying hello to them whenever i know im about to experience these visions, sleep paralysis.

sometimes we play games where i move my body in the opposite direction they want me, sometimes they push me around outside my body and sometimes i raise my hand in the air with the finger pointed up as if saying that im with god and they cant move me, sometimes they can. if it gets too annoying i just wake up by swiftly turning my core/torso/shoulders, its a developed technique.

sometimes the sleep paralysis would happen when im in a bad spot (sideways facing the wall) and i cant see my visitors, so when i would turn around i would wake up with the physical movement. eventually i learned that to move i had without waking up i had to be real slow.

the fastest you move, the easier they control your body. i mean, the hat man had some shadow nets out of his fingers that he could attach to me. initially he would control my soul as a pupetteers to show he had power over me, but eventually i learned to slowly defeat his grip by moving slowly (like doing an abdominal exercise with your soul)

once i extended my arm and fingers to touch his hand like that famous painting, my finger was translucent white and his was dark black shadowy and it felt like solid wind.

sometimes the hatman would approach me when i was in deep sadness/sorrow so he would lose his patience with me. once he made a gun out of shadows and shot me in the head, but nothing actually happened, it was just like a representation of what he wanted to do i guess.

sometimes the hatman came with another guy, shadowy figure filled with tattoo, adult mean wearing diapers and it would talk to me, as if trying to convince me, sell me a product saying "i just want you to be happy".

i never got happy.

one day i kind of drove them off, it was like a test that i failed, the adult shadow in diapers was holding a sword on top and from behind the hatman, ready to strike him and they were waiting for my reaction... and i quote one the gods commandments, thou shalt not kill and ordered the guy to drop the sword, then they looked at me with a facepalm look as if concluding i was a waste of their time.

i miss them. i feel so alone. every night they would watch and say things to me trying to sell me happyness and saying how white my soul was, but i would always inadvertly mention jesus or jesus teachings and they got disappointed every time as if i hurt their feelings.

nobody outside of glp would believe the crazy things i see and hear when im about to sleep.

i got countless episodes from god/jesus too, dreams and teachings, like asking a question before sleeping and waking up with a parabole as answer, all different from the bible too.

two days ago i woke up with a voice telling me to read psalm 127

god is awesome, but im still sad that the girl i want to marry and be blessed with children rejects me.
