Just a loose hypothesis: The US of A (which is actually a corporation) knows their assets are going to be confiscated by the owner's of their debt and are now foreclosing on same. So, the US of A promulgates a phoney gun ban, and pushes forward executive orders to make gun ownership more cumbersome. The intended effect: protect their assets which are at risk of being claimed by a foreign corporation by pissing off the public who are arming themselves to the teeth (as a pushback measure). Thus, making China more hesitant to stake their claim potentially.
