The “socialization” score that places homeschoolers much higher than public schoolers. I’m curious about how they measure that, by the way. It’s not that I’m surprised that homeschoolers are better “socialized,” since I can’t think of an institution that, generally speaking, does a poorer job of socializing than public high schools (at least from my experience). |

So just think about that too. Because there are no Motel Rooms for Hippes wearing square toed boots with little rings on the side, who smoke Maryjuhanna ciggarets. That much we all know: All Homeschool boys and girls should watch this video and discuss it with their parents as they watch it with them! Both mom and Dad. |

Let's see how well homeschooling would do if they had to teach large classes and take kids from families that don't give a fuck ! You need to compare apples with apples Not all families have the time or resources to home school. Let's face it some parents shouldn't have kids let alone teach them. |

In a world where both parents have to work just to live, home schooling is near impossible. I would still put my kids (public educated) up against any home schooled kid. Caring motivated parents and bright kids will succeed regardless of the system they use to educate them. I'm for homeschooling for those who can, but there are many that can't or should't. WOW. what a fucking idiot tool you are. i am not even going to address your antisemitism. there is nothing i can say that could make you look as stupid as you already say yourself... however, i will explain to your simple ass, that if you actually read the article, which i doubt you did because you are a stupid asshole, you would see that they have a little graph for test scores. the homeschool test scores are all different numbers in the 80s (i think, not looking at it now) but the public school scores are all 50%. i dont see how all the scores in all the categories are 50% especially when the homeschool scores are all different. fuck off you stupid piece of shit. dont even reply, i dont care what you think. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17485914 Yes. Public schools suck! um, you have missed my point. not sure if you actually read the article you posted..but as i said in some other posts... the numbers for the test scores do not seem correct unless i am missing something in how i am reading the chart. all the homeschool scores are different (and much higher than the public school scores- much higher. a lot bigger gap in other areas they measured). however, all the public school scores are 50%. no variance. that doesnt seem right to me. |

My daughter was in the public school system from Kindergarten thru 8th grade. I homeschooled her 9-11th grade, she is now going for her GED because of changes in the Pell Grant program in which you need a high school diploma or GED in order to get a Pell Grant. (In Iowa, home schoolers can't get a high school diploma if they are homeschool for high school) My daughter would win against my son any time, any day. vaccinefreehealth blogspot com The risk far outweighs any benefit as the risk will vary from child to child. facebook.com/graphixyourway |

Let's compare this: a black ghetto kid smokes all day in the bathroom at school. When he can't do that, he sleeps in the classroom. Teachers let him because then he is not fighting. In fact, if the rule says "No student may have his head on the desk during instruction, idiotic white teachers will provide the kid with a carton, to lay his head on, so TECHNICALLY his head is not on the desk, and the teacher is within the rules. Well, let me get started here. You can't do much worse homeschooling even if all the kid did all day was watch tv. At least he would not be brawling, smoking, causing harm to himself and others. Most kids come to school for sex and fighting. and the parts of the free lunches they do not throw out. No one in their right mind can call this realistic high school scenario "education." Anonymous Coward User ID: 9222520 United States 01/19/2013 10:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think one point a lot of people are missing here is this.... Who says you HAVE to home-school? This is a choice. Those parents who can't afford the time to homeschool, dont homeschool. Those parents who are against homeschooling, don't homeschool. All this article/post is demonstrating is that homeschooling works for those parents and children who have the time and will to do so. Some parents or children are "iffy" on homeschooling, and this article may just clear a lot of things up for them as the sources are provided. I personally know a couple who has asked their child if they would like to be homeschooled instead of being in a public school. This is because their child excels in testing, getting 90% or higher every test. However, the daily assignments are all much much lower as he simply doesn't do the work. This of course reflects on him as being a bad "failing" student. How would this scenario change if s/he were to be homeschooled? I feel it would make a night and day difference as his parents would be the teachers. There are many reasons for homeschooling, I support it personally. And again, it's a CHOICE. Nobody is forcing parents to homeschool their childeren. |
