If I were their boss I would have canned them too. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32599202 Right, that's why we have GLP. I would never discuss controversial subjects at work unless someone else brought it up. Unless you have a union bottom feeder to spout rhetoric to it's pretty much a one sided conversion with most progressive/libs/bottom feeders. No mater how may facts you bring out they just call ya names and act like a child and throw a temper tantrum until someone one calms them down or they get slapped like in above case “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...” ― Dr. Seuss, Oh, the Places You'll Go! |

The one who was for NO guns threw his lunch at the the other. Then the other took it to the floor. Quoting: Melrox Was his lunch carried in a high capacity semi automatic assault lunch box capable of dispensing a meal with every opening of the lid? However, I think they both lost because they have kids and it's a $60,000 a yr. job with great benefits. Their families will have to pay for lost tempers. Quoting: Melrox But why was the guy that was attacked fired (por gun guy that is)? That's insane. -GLP-Christian- User ID: 32545341 Sweden 01/19/2013 08:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Personally, If someone was willing to physically fight at work over guns, it wouldn't surprise me to find out they were also willing to show up at work with a gun for vengeance. watch your back. Quoting: Seeker of Truth Obviously it was because one guy got the others lunch all over him that he smacked the lunch thrower, only one should have been fired. Your job is to take care of yourself and your family, so pick your battles and try not to let emotion rule you. that can be hard to do, but it's all we have, most days. No matter what happens, you have to make it through the day intact whenever possible. That means employed and able to feed your family too, not just alive. |
Dr. Lecter User ID: 24275310 United States 01/19/2013 08:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Pretty stupid to fire someone over a disagreement, maybe send them home for the day but fire them in this economy crash? Heartless. Quoting: MuslimAmerican ummmm.... i think a fist-fight might be considered a little more than a disagreement. just like maj. hason killing 13 people in ft. hood while shouting "allah akbar" was a little more than work-place violence. So what? Where do guys NOT fight? In the auto industry it was a strange day if someone didn't get into a fist fight in the pits. I could see it had weapons been involved or it was a felony fight with serious injuries, not a little scuffle. Good point. I have to throw down with one idiot or another just about every weekend. The gun debate has been very heavy around here. The sheriff of a nearby county has even posted a statement saying he won't enforce any unconstitutional laws or executive orders. I feel it's only a matter of time before it escalates to more than just people fighting at work about it. |

However, I think they both lost because they have kids and it's a $60,000 a yr. job with great benefits. Their families will have to pay for lost tempers. Quoting: Melrox Get in touch with the pro gun guy. He can sue to get his job back. He was assaulted and was simply defending himself, based on the narrative you gave. Granted, he was assaulted with a sandwich but hey, lots of cases are decided on a technicality. He MUST stand up for himself or this could haunt him for his entire work career. "Reason for leaving last job: fired for workplace violence." Uh, not good. The dweezle who thinks all guns should be banned, well let him fend for himself. |

davvi User ID: 3677166 United States 01/19/2013 09:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I cringed when I read the headline OP! I just had a debate with a coworker about gun control (I'm pro 2nd) at work with a witness. Afterwards, I instinctually felt wrong about having the heated topic of conversation at work. There's a time and a place and work isn't it the correct venue. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 9511424 i agree, people see everything that they have worked for disappearing or being confiscated by an out of control government. people are tired of working their butts off while watching parasites reaping the rewards. there is the sense that we no longer have any say in what the gov does or what IT demands. |
