Well this is an interesting article. Looks as if Thailand is the new hot spot.

"•By contrast, foreign direct investment into Thailand grew by about 63% in 2012, and Indonesia investment was up 27% in the first nine months of last year."

I heard this on an investment forum in 2010.
Why did I not invest? This is human slavery.

Wondering the implications if the standard of living reverses and civil unrest intensifies in China. Especially since they're heightening tensions with the South China Sea.

What do you think op.

I didn't think it was possible to produce goods any cheaper then China did.

Unless we can crack into N.Koreas market and get them to shed their dictatorial ways. China would never allow it. They don't want the competition.

They will definitely have their hands full if everyone looks for cheaper places to produce. Makes me wonder if they'll maintain that Aggressive Posture myself.

Re: China Begins to Lose Edge as World’s Factory Floor – 16 Jan 2013
I've always questioned China's supposed future as world leader. First of all, every time oil gets up a little too high some big manufacturer shuts down it's Chinese operations and moves back to this side of the pond. Wait until oil hits new records for sustained periods and see what happens. Secondly, China faces internal pressures that it has never faced. A previously monolithic society is tranforming. Thus the cheap slave labor isn't going to last. Thirdly, the Remnimbi is pegged low against the dollar. When these three things change there will be no incentive to produce there, except perhaps to service the Chinese consumers.

China steals intellectual property from everybody she deals with. She has been punking on everybody in the region and caused them all to get very nervous. If China gets into a tussle with Japan and/or the US all that manufacturing will leave overnight. China is already more polluted than the US ever has been. Her soil is generally poor because the ages of farming has led to the soil running off into the rivers. She cannot feed herself and likely never will be able to. Her oil and gas reserves make the US look like Saudi Arabia times ten. Also, despite what many would like to believe, there is no way China can match the US militarily for 11-15 years, more likely 25 years.

Correct - and you can therefore see how the world's current economic stability is dependent upon the transnationals always having some new pool of peasants to do the menial manufacturing jobs.

That is, until they replace humans with robots - which is just around the corner.

In Australia already, several HUGE mining operations are totally automated. The trucks drive themselves around the mine, all machinery is integrated via computer. There are just two humans (overseers) where before there were hundreds of workers.

Just one of many future shocks we haven't comprehended yet - along with nanotechnology, 3D printing and cloud computer processing.
