I suspect the reason they can ignore it is that it's not really a binding contract, more a 'tell them what they want to hear' statement - it's part of the culture of elites making decisions for their 'inferiors', full of fine sounding words and phrases, but dubious from a legal point of view. |

But dont let that colour your judgement. All this talk about eroding your constitution. From an outsiders perspective, but extremely interested person, just about all these measures were prefaced with a few very powerful words - "until which time, we see fit to reverse these temporary changes." This crap started back in WW2, but the big slide, when your average Joe just stopped caring or understanding was when Nixon made his move in 1971, and 'temporarily' suspended the convertability of the US$ into gold, creating and endless free fall, resulting at the point you are at today. Just printing, and most importantly, FINDING JUSTIFIABLE REASONS TO PRINT MORE MONEY TO FUND THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX, as warned of by Ike, and reitterated by Kennedy. The word temporary is what needs to be addressed, and it doesnt involve guns, just grass roots efforts to have these things over turned, because the threats arent there any more. In other words, re-stack the dominoes. I think your gun issue today, and all the contrived and orchestrated events used to try to legislate against weapons, as they did here in OZ, is not about total dissarmament, but making sure the military (and I include the reserve forces and guard in this) ahead of the common man. The right to bear arms is a critical part of your constitution, all be it a bit out dated by word terms, that ytou guys will NEVER let go of. Political suicide. So legislating against semi auto and auto weapons just says to me that they ant to keep a measure of control. That this is happening now, suggests something is on the way that will require a measure of control. There has been enough ammo movements, body bags and caskets, troop redeployments, tank redeployments to indicate a known future event is about to take place. My money is on Assumption Parish/Bayou Corne becoming the first sign of a collapse and erosion of salt structures, that will ultimately connect the GoM with the Great Lakes. That would be a lot of displaced people, most of which will be carrying a weapon of some description. Anyhow, just thought I'd put another perspective on this debate about guns. Personally I just cant see why you need them, but you're in America, and I'm in OZ. I hope you folks find your way through what ever is coming, and most importantly, when you get through it, restore your proud constitution and vote in people with integrity and honesty that care about the nation, not their wallet. |

There use to be congress men that would let them know that it was unconstitutional on it head. Those men have passed with no one to replace them.
