Quoting: chuckslik This morning sometime between 5:30-6:00 am, I hear what sounds like a massive passenger jet close to our house. Within seconds we were hit with huge gusts of wind. This went on for about 4-5 minutes. Followed by a lightning storm (no thunder). I've never experienced a lightning storm in January. where you at |

It was about 1:30am which is pretty much when the storm front blew in. A lot of thunder and a lot of lightening. I really can't remember a thunder and lightening storm in January either. — read for knowledge, not answers. |

Thread: How rare is a blizzard with lightning? Also, I want to add, I got the phone text warnings very early in the morning. It was like 8-12 hours before the storm came. First time for that too. Then we had a drop in temperature from 45 yesterday to 18 degree today. I heard it was from the CME that hit which in turn created a magnetic pulse creating a fracture in the stratisphere that has created an artic river through the midwest. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24418900 It was 50 here for last 2 days with a lot of wind. Right now its 10 degrees. notinfallible User ID: 30134138 United States 01/20/2013 01:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We didn't get the lightning storm here, but we did have some strange weather yesterday. I live in Rochester, Minnesota and the day started out with temperatures in the forties (°F). At noon, it started raining. At about 5pm, we started getting crazy winds....gusts up to 50mph-60mph that lasted for five or six hours...and now it is 6°F outside and the wind chill -13°F. Brawndo's got electrolytes. |
