I had chicken pox when I was young. I remember if one kid came down with it other kids in the neighborhood came over to play so they could be exposed. The younger you were the easier the illness. During the 50's early 60's you hoped your kid would catch them before they started school.

In my late 40's, when I was under a lot of stress, I had shingles. Strangest experience, it wasn't fun be it only lasted about a week.

I think the new ads are due to a new drug and it's the drug company hoping to cash in. You watch the commercial then you ask your doctor. Easier for the drug company to have patients asking for a drug then having drug reps knocking on clinic doors.
