Fossil fuel divestment movement sweeping the nation

In the last 40 years, we've burned enough fossil fuels to raise the global temperature one degree Celsius. That has melted half the polar ice caps, made the Atlantic Ocean 30 percent more acidic, made July 2012 the hottest month ever on record, caused a drought over 65 percent of the United States, produced two “once-in-a-century” storms in consecutive years, is making it so hot in Australia right now that pumping gas is impossible because it evaporates faster than it can be pumped and, if you didn't notice, last week was in the 60s in early January here in the Northeast.

The only thing every government in the world agrees upon — possibly the only thing they will ever all agree upon — is we don't want to see what two degrees does.
