If soil can absorb some and what grows is mutated what happens to metals and liquids that comes into contact with radiation? Say like the airliners from Japan only that have had fuel leaks and 'overcharged' batteries. Do irritated metals crack easier and jets are the first to experience the changes in 'the wild'.
