TV: New roadway being built to access giant sinkhole — ‘Containment berm’ around hole? [ link to enenews.com] A berm??? How the heck is a berm supposed to stop the sloughing of the hole? It might hold back the water, but that, in itself, might not be such a good idea. More water, more weight on the cavern. Quoting: Earth Cries Build a berm around the sinkhole and you have a shot at preventing additional water flowing into the sinkhole and they might be able to slow down the erosion. If they do this they may have a shot at cementing it off. really???? this sink hole is attached to a salt dome and could go down thousands of feet. it is now bigger then a round football field. how much cement would they need to pour into this hole???? now the berm just might be there to hold back all the crude oil coming up, so it does not spread though out the whole area down there.
