Hey! both of these are simulation on SPECIFIC data.... they do track CME. the do not always look at the data you want, though usually they will. there are several models running at any given time. they update data at any given time. these are by no means a real time sim of what is going on. keep in mind the any new solar winds coming around if strong can alter the path of any CME. now something to keep up front in your thoughts.... if and when our sun spits out the "solar KILL shot" it will be very dense...(the amount of protons involved) and very very fast moving. the 1850's CME hit around 18 hr after it's eruption. we saw a backside eruption very dense and if it was earth directed would have hit just under 12 hour. think of it like getting hit by a big truck moving very fast. a good video editor can make anyone say anything the editor wants. |
