Blockbuster Video Closing 300 Stores soon

Had no idea there were even that many Blockbusters left! Kinda miss those days as a kid going to rent the latest and greatest in movies and games.

I see Food Lion is closing 8 stores next month

YUP. I still remember having to rewind before returning.

Lol, I remember when they used to rent VCR's..

Family video called me twice in two months for one free with two weeks half off on all new releases.

The friendly employees were getting passed-over and exploited here. Leaving a very crappy mean staff. They were even picking on seniors.
I warned them they would be closing and with great hubris they jested. Once they closed, a few years back, I explained to many how those bullies would be looking for work while being interviewed by those they harassed.

Hahaha, the good old days. Stop hit rewind.
I remember a local video stores use to charge $.50 every tape that i didn't rewind.

Even after 300 closing, they say there will be 500 stores left.

I can remember the days of renting Atari and Nintendo Games from the local video stores around here. Those were the days.

I worked at Hollywood Video, then Game Crazy as a manager for years and years. As soon as they sold out to Movie Gallery, it went down the shit hole. Then Netflix got a lot bigger (online streaming) and of course Red Box started popping up everywhere. Needless to say, they closed my store 2 months after I left and the rest went down left and right. I miss those days too.

I remember paying 5$ for movies and 9$ for xbox 360 games!

sucks not having a hard copy of a movie you want around the corner to go pick up. new releases? easy to get, say you want to watch an oldie and cant stream? got to order it from the net. gone the days of spontaneous old movie watching.

You are a damn fruit loop. Blockbuster had a horrible business model that was doomed from the start. To start they prayed upon user willingness to ignore phony late fees. With instant streaming, netflix, redbox, u name it, Bb is a pathetic brick&mortar dinosaur post the asteroid smack down.
