Re: How to heal a cavity naturally and nutritionally without the need for 'drilling and filling'
I found a thread here once talking about oil of oregano and I found it interesting but had no real opportunity to try it.

Now, I don't know if this will work for a full-blown cavity, but last summer the opportunity came when I had a tooth that was bothering me a bit with very painful sensitivity such as you get when you have a cracked tooth and I thought "what the hell, I have nothing to lose" so I got some oil of oregano from the local vitamin shoppe.

Twice a day I placed 3-4 drops directly on the tooth. Held it in mouth for about 2 minutes while the saliva glands kick in. Then as people recommended, I swished it around trying to pull it through teeth and then rinsed. Some suggested that you place a drop under your tongue and hold it there and then swish. Whatever works for you. The idea is to get the oil to the affected area.

About 3-4 days later the pain and sensitivity had eased to negligible. Within a week the pain was gone altogether. I was amazed. I continued for another week to make it two weeks total. Today, I still take it every week or two as a preventative and I have not had any problems with the tooth since.

I don't know how it works, I just know that it does.

Now I just wonder why dentists don't recommend this as a treatment. ....wait... no I don't.

There is NOTHING about the human body that cannot be repaired naturally through diet and exercise.

What about brain cells?

They constantly tell everyone that once you lose your brain cells they lack the ability to regrow.

I've heard one guy say that it is possible to regenerate brains cells, but he was one of many.

I heard of a man that had a stroke, He lost all ability to speak. He began juicing greens everyday and veggies. He began to heal and speak again..

Another man with the same stroke just ate donuts and bread and meat and no veggies. He succumbed to another stroke a year later.

Please excuse my confusion, but what exactly is butter oil and where would one find it? Doesn't plain 100% butter work just as well?
 Quoting: CalmSerenity

I use a fermented cod liver oil/high vitamin butter oil combined. It is made by Green Pasture, and brace yourself on the cost! But it is very worth it. Helps with more than just remineralizing teeth.

Cavities are not caused by nutritional deficiencies.

The entire premise of this article is flawed.

Cavities are caused by bacteria that secrete acidic waste products onto the enamel. Teeth are different than bones in the fact that a tooth is not made up of living cells but are predominantly a crystalline structure known as hydroxyapatite.

Please don't believe this utter BS.

Seriously???

I had no idea teeth could heal. I thought once enamel is gone, it's gone.

I am aware of that now that I make natural stews from my organic garden.

Now, like a fool, I drink my coffee with chocolate mix (refined sugar) for a few weeks till my teeth start to hurt.

Then I switch to coffee without sugar (or honey, after the fact honey is not good for teeth either), and eat stews made with lots of leafy green vegetables. And my teeth heal and all the pain goes away.

What a fool I am.

Re: How to heal a cavity naturally and nutritionally without the need for 'drilling and filling'
One problem of the remineralization of most people's teeth is that they are still using flouridated toothpaste. The flouride coats the teeth and retards the minerals in the saliva to remineralize the tooth. I have two cavities that were supposed to be filled a year ago, and started making sure everything I ate was able to be processed to replenishing my phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, A,C, D, & K, etc (the key ingredients to remineralization), and the progression of the decay has halted, and somewhat reversed. The first thing I noticed was that my teeth felt like there is a smooth texture on them when I run my tongue over my teeth - kind of like a glass coating. But the main thing is to ditch the flouride. Your teeth will not remineralize with that toxin on your teeth or in your body.

since time has begun humans have ingested natural calcium flouride from groundwater sources. (wells, springs)

Calcium Fluoride, #1, is the Cell Salt that strengthens bones and teeth. Calcium Fluoride works by bonding calcium from the saliva to the enamel of the teeth. Calcium Fluoride is an important mineral found in bones, skin and teeth.

True.

And for these very same reasons, teeth can be "healed", or recalcified, through a "proper" diet, which generally eliminates sugars, acids, and wheat flour, and which emphasizes leafy green vegetables.

It is true that there are cavity causing bacteria, without which we would not get cavities, but with regular cleaning and a "proper" diet (not the type of diet most people are used to), those bacteria are only part of the equation.

teeth "heal", if there is still is a minimal matrix for mineral deposits. it's a fine line between a crack in the matrix of a teeth, and a tiny cavity, but somewhere there is the border of what can fix naturally and what not. i'm not sure, if i'm making this clear - i hope you understand.

Great info, OP.

I recently had a trip to the dentist for a filling. I asked her if it was possible for a tooth to re-mineralize, and her answer was, "Well, not really.. But if you apply A LOT of fluoride diligently to the area, a very small cavity can sometimes be fixed." I then made a point not to roll my eyes or respond with more than an "Ohh, ok."

As an aside, said filling fell out while flossing about a month later so I went elsewhere to get it fixed. yeahsure

if you would like to see a test to prove this

then take a tooth and place it in some liquid that has the same ph as your saliva.. see how long it takes to dissolve, and realise that if your teeth were not being constantly replenished with the right saliva ph your teeth would have dissolved long ago.

most people teeth damage is done as they sleep, the saliva ph changes to acidic in the night, by the time you have woken up the saliva will have taken all that days worth of re-enameling away, if you dont eat the right food.

I never drink tap water and my teeth are perfect.
I brush my teeth once a day on a morning and use orange juice, (freshly squeezed) as mouth wash twice a day, just half a glass to mouthwash and swallow.

The key to keeping your teeth in good condition is not to use toothpaste, seriously as it has abrasives in it which damage the enamel.

Your own mouth's natural saliva keeps harmful bacteria away as long as you use a soft toothbrush.
Some people brush their teeth after every meal, which is silly as it weakens the enamel just like constantly polishing a table or floor fades it.

When a dentist tells you that flossing and brushing regular is good for you...that alone should set alarm bells ringing as they are only interested in making money at the end of the day.

You can use any fruit to mouth wash with.
Never floss your teeth because all you are doing ,is rubbing it against your gums, giving you much more chance of getting a gum related infection which can cost you your teeth or an abscess.

If you get a piece of meat or something stuck, then by all means floss that bit out, yet don;t do it for the sake of it.

If your tongue feels horrible and furry, eat a pickled onion and mush it around your mouth, then have a drink of fresh orange or other fruit juice, or eat a piece of fruit.

Avoid check ups at the dentist because they actually case your decay by picking at your teeth.

Re: How to heal a cavity naturally and nutritionally without the need for 'drilling and filling'
hey op or anyone else that can commment/reply...

i have chipped teeth. they are still alive. what should i do to repair these? is there evidence that my chipped teeth can regrow/recalcity themselves? i had a dentist build some sort of ceramic on the chipped teeth and the ceramic has slowly worn away over the years

also going into the dr this thursday to get my first cavity filled. it's a very shallow cavity. would not require drilling of the root or anything. i don't have insurance. so i imagine i'm going to spend a hefty dollar on this. would it be a cheaper approach to go with the remedies posted here? i did go to wellness moma and read the articles there.

so questions and a final question reposted as follows:

what should i do to repair these chipped teeth? oil pull and the remedies posted?

can teeth actually regrow/recalcify themselves with badly chipped but intact teeth?

is this a fiscally sound cheaper remedy than going to a dentist?

and finally my question to the posters who use the remedies: how often or when was the last time you went to a dentist?

thank you for your time and considerations

Fluoridation does not affect the appearance, taste, or smell of drinking water.[1] It is normally accomplished by adding one of three compounds to the water: sodium
fluoride, fluorosilicic acid, or sodium fluorosilicate.

Sodium fluoride (NaF) was the first compound used and is the reference standard.[31] It is a white, odorless powder or crystal; the crystalline form is preferred if manual handling is used, as it minimizes dust.[32] It is more expensive than the other compounds, but is easily handled and is usually used by smaller utility companies.[33]

Fluorosilicic acid (H2SiF6) is an inexpensive liquid by-product of phosphate fertilizer manufacture.[31] It comes in varying strengths, typically 23–25%; because it contains so much water, shipping can be expensive.[32] It is also known as hexafluorosilicic, hexafluosilicic, hydrofluosilicic, and silicofluoric acid.[31]

Sodium fluorosilicate (Na2SiF6) is the sodium salt of fluorosilicic acid. It is a powder or very fine crystal that is easier to ship than fluorosilicic acid. It is also known as sodium silicofluoride.[32]
