I have engaged in meditation and deep contemplation in the past - it really didn't do much for me. In fact, the answers I was getting were leading me astray, and I am now trying to make up for and heal from the mistakes I made based on tapping into the so-called truth or consciousness within.

What I experience with Christ is very different. There is a little bit of similarity - I do believe that we each have the Truth within us - I believe that God plants that seed within us. I think I wrote about this in an earlier response (I'm starting to feel like I'm just going around in circles with this) - the problem that arises is knowing how to discern whether the consciousness within you is God or whatever higher intelligence you ascribe to, or is it the enemy? Now, if you don't believe in evil, I guess it's not an issue, but I do, and I have fought and continue to fight the enemy and his infiltration into my thoughts. But, with Christ, there is definitely an additional presence that can be felt at times, and it is comforting - it is a companionship.

And, as I mentioned previously, the answers are not just coming from within. Someone else asked - why does God need to work through others to give our messages? Well, I'd say this is perfect example - so that they can be verified as not just coming from 'within' myself.

I feel that the New Age Movement, promoting inner consciousness or spirituality or whatever you want to call it is a big deception, and is contributing to the further degradation of our society. That is my deeply held belief, based on my journey in life and the trials and tribulations it has brought me. I'm not seeking to force Christ on anyone - simply wanting to share what I have learned and experienced in the hope that it may benefit someone else and save him or her some heartache and trouble down the road. Take it or leave it.
