Mali: France imposes news blackout as French bodies pile up!

Just for the record, They rescued us before we ever rescued them.

True that. We could have been a British territory. Their support of the Revolutionary war caused the use of the guillotine on their politicians and monarchy because it made France go broke.

well the whole northern part of Mali in uninhabited desert.
what's really happening is that the insurgents are trying
to take control of the whole Eastern half of Southern Mali.

and what is notable in this conflict is that evidently
there are large numbers of people in Mali who
don't want the Islamics to take over the country.

(and this is the basic reason why France is intervening)

If I were a gambler, I'd not put my money on fixed, bound entities like nations - singular or united - to defeat a foe that exists beyond states, dimensions, borders, and boundaries.
