I know with a lot of online games you have to provide an ID scan if you lose your authenticator or log in from like China. It's a security measure. She at first noticed that her password for FB did not work anymore, so she went through the normal reset procedures. She created a new PW and when she logged in she got a message that states she has to provide a photo ID to validate her identity! At first i was thinking she has some malware infection with a browser hijack, but to my suprise when i went to log into my account i had to go through the same steps. It's the go-to place for any fine-grained info about people who might interest you. It would otherwise cost you a fortune to get that type of information. I think you will need act soon though, otherwise the barrier to entry might become too high for some people - as we are starting to see. |

If we don't "buy" it by using it, FB will make no money with the advertisers. Just say no thank you. If enough people say no thank you, I'm not giving you my ID. I'd rather not use FB than to disclose that to you. FB looses money, they don't like to loose the advertising dollar, so to re-attract all of the people who stopped using it, they will change it back. Hard to believe, but there is life without FB. You can keep incontact with the people you know without it. |

Just used tor and switched back to chrome and all it does is say on a map where "some one else" logged in to your facebook blablahblah. Mentions password change or allow it to be safe, went for password change and you can change it. None of this "photo ID is required" |
