Today's Chicago Tribune - Doctor Probes Teen on Guns in the Home...Mom Fights Back!
From the editorial: "I felt uneasy, but I stepped out so my son wouldn't be embarrassed," she told me, saying she figured they would ask drug and alcohol questions. Sam doesn't take drugs or alcohol, she said.

Later that day, Sam told her what the doctors had asked him.

"By the way, Mom," she recalled him saying, "when you were out of the room they asked me if we had any guns in the house."

Re: Today's Chicago Tribune - Doctor Probes Teen on Guns in the Home...Mom Fights Back!
"Now, with all this gun control legislation (in Illinois), I'm angry for many reasons," she said. "Why are they asking about guns in the hospital? Are they mandated by Obamacare to do so? Can they ask a minor about guns without a parent in the room? I'm really upset."

Advocate spokesman Mike Maggio told us he couldn't discuss this case for privacy reasons, but that gun questions are "not part of our protocol. It is not routine in any way. And it's not a standard practice."

Later Tuesday, Insley said she received a telephone call from Dr. Mark Butterly, head of the hospital's pediatric residency program. She said Butterly told her that it is indeed standard practice.

Why did the dumb bitch take him to the doctor in the first place. And where is the father.

I can see a couple problems already and I'm out here on the perimeter.

Sure they do. I already understand the whole thing about doctors asking about guns. People didnt stand up to it so that's a done deal now. Accept it.

The real problem here is that the woman took her kid to the doctor in the first place when she should be boycotting the medical system unless its a case of severe illness or trauma. Did she just take the boy in for a checkup? If she did then she is to blame.

And the father. Where is he. Did the ho bag get knocked up on a one night stand or is she divorced. And if she is married then where the fuck is he and why is he not in control of the situation. The father should be in that doctors face threatening law suits or whatever else. And if he is absent then there's a pretty good chance the woman is a total fuck up so that would exain the whole scenario.

Doctors asking questions about guns is a symptom of the problem. It is not THE problem.

THE problem is people and society.

I thought it was odd when our insurance company was asking if we had guns or jewelry (gold) that we wanted to insure.... They were asking quite a few questions that seemed scripted. We had to call several times in 2011 when there were multiple tornadoes etc.....
Has anyone else experienced this?

I agree wholeheartedly. I haven't been to a doctor since my 4th was born (20 years ago). When my 5th was born, I used a midwife at home (much better care than with the other 4). They always want to do such drastic things such as taking out the things God gave us, cutting this, burning this.....I have always trusted in God and He has given me the knowledge to help myself in most cases. I am not saying you should never go to the doctor, but I think 90% of the visits or unnecessary and even cause problems that were not there before. Oh, bamacare, what are you going to do to those of us that do not need help and are healthy. We all have our "time to die"--it is not for us to say or change....

I understand how insurance works....It was the type of questions that they were asking about what type of guns...how many...It wasnt the normal spiel. Wish I could remember their exact words.....

You are MORE ignorant. It is an obvious shill using obvious shill tactics - they do it in every thread. They say something offensive or controversial that changes the subject or deflects from the subject - that way people spend their time arguing back and forth about the now changed subject, instead of the actual subject.

Well most of Obama's 23 Executive Actions...whatever "Executive Action" means, had to do with Obamacare and essentially deputizing doctors to be the arbitors in whether or not you get to keep your guns...

Obamacare, and by extention, the fact that the government now has your medical records is going to be a huge part of this gun grabbing push...
