Glad the diver was kind enough to help the animal, most vacationers would have swam off probably in fright thinking it was attacking them, while others wouldn't bother wasting their time.

Unfortunately we do not only underestimate the intelligence of animals, but also the precious capabilities and values of their souls etc.;

The unforgettable day will inevitably come, when all human beings will have to answer God's perfectly legitimate questions regarding their almost countless grave violations against animals, plants and absolutely all other forms of life etc.;

Shame they couldn't manage to remove that damn hook - i guess only a fisherman is good at doing that from flesh, i watched my dad do it and it's quite brutal really...have to really turn it on itself pulling at the same time.

They should have been more forceful at attempting it, in the salty water the flesh would soon heal.
Great they got the line from its fin at least, it enabled it to move more.

This is actually one reason why i'm against fishing - knowing a fishing community and having family into it- i've been there when yards of line, including the hook has broken off due to a fish hooked and the line snagging on rocks, breaking it. The fish is left with a hook in it lips, trailing around metres of line for the rest of its life.
Swans often get caught up in fishing line too.

They should make fishing line out of a material that degrades and rot after a while. My dad is always boasting about lines that are super-thin - super-strong and last forever!

If i could do anything in life, it would be to swim with dolphins :-) Thanks for the video OP :-)

How freaking cool is that?!

Extremely,
extremely freaking cool to say the least.
I was fortunate once to have a Dolphin interact with my SLR Camera and I. It kept charging the shoreline of a peninsula I was standing on and jumping completely out of the water head-on to get its picture taken. Did not get a good shot because I was interacting back. I was sad that day and the dolphin was cheering me up.

I think the divers who interacted with the dolphin were not tourists, but the guys who took tourists out to see sea life.

I love dolphins...such beautiful and intelligent creatures. So happy they could help it..just such a shame that it was humans that cause the problem in the first place.

Humanity are meant to be stewards (protectors) of the ecosystems. That was Ultimate Reality's goal for us. Instead we abuse that trust for greed.

Some humans are more altruistic and so connected to the Earth and species that dwell here.

Several trainers of dolphins and other cetacean lifeforms
[link to en.wikipedia.org]
have noted that sometimes they would "think" what they wanted to teach the creatures to do, and the creatures read them. We don't know how. It might be body language, gestures, facial expressions, tone, voice, or it could be all of those plus a mystical link between our soul and their intellect. We don't know. It is an amazing phenomena and not just anecdotal.

Day of the Dolphin is based upon his efforts to speak with Dolphins.

I'm glad that a trained professional diver was around and well equipped with a sharp diving knife as well as being sensitive, compassionate, dextrous, graceful, and powerful enough a swimmer as to anticipate the dolphin's path and position in space as well as use care. That guy is a real hero.

We all can be heroes, we just miss our chances.

This true story is largely lost to time. Most young people don't know about Pelorus Jack. I hope they make it into a movie some day.
[link to en.wikipedia.org]
"Pelorus Jack (fl. 1888 – April 1912) was a Risso's dolphin that was famous for meeting and escorting ships through a stretch of water in Cook Strait, New Zealand, between 1888 and 1912. Pelorus Jack was usually spotted in Admiralty Bay between Cape Francis and Collinet Point, near French Pass, a notoriously dangerous channel used by ships travelling between Wellington and Nelson.

Pelorus Jack was shot at from a passing ship, and was later protected by a 1904 New Zealand law."

For many years Pelorus Jack would carefully help ship navigate through dangerous waters. He would guide them and so they wouldn't get caught on shoals or coral reefs.

Dolphins were so friendly in ancient times that the Greeks thought that drowned sailors had transformed into dolphins.
