Girls in Combat !!!

One thing that stood out for me in that video right... long hair.

They all have very nice long hair.
Are male soldiers even allowed to have long hair?

Would that not be a potential liability in combat?
I know in a fight (like a regular street fight or whatever) long hair can spell doom for an opponent if it gets grabbed.

How about visibility?
If those ponytails come undone during an intense firefight and the soldier is supposed to be giving cover fire or something and at a crucial moment his/her visibility is obscured by hair?

It's a weird little detail I know, but it just struck me as I watched.

Any military folks got an opinion on that?

Reasons?
Purely for uniformity or are there practical combat reasons?

long hair for women is part of their identity.

and the authorities don't want men to start thinking
that long hair is part of their identity.

Actually it goes all the way back to the Romans.

Roman soldiers cut their hair short so Barbarians couldn't grap them by the back of the head.

Once an entire phalanx was broken up because the guys had long hair.

Is that the official reason?
Is there military literature or rules that can be cited to back that up?

German AC above said male soldiers are not permitted to have long hair.

My question is if this is so, what are the official reasons given for this, that's all I want to know.

I'm not attempting to knock the idea of women in combat, that's not for me to say, I'm just curious.

the whole point of weaponry is to avoid hand to hand combat at all costs.

Just make sure none of those girls are captured, because then the fun is over.

and what inspired this post is that today the U.S. Secretary of Defense announced
that women will now become combat soldiers!

So are you saying women should be barred from any combat role in which hand to hand combat may occur?

Look, the girls in the video are all very attractive and their hair makes them look very nice but all I'm asking is what are the practical policies on long hair in the military.

If men are not permitted by official policy to have long hair, I want to know the modern official reasons why.

Also, if men are not allowed and women are... is that not a double standard which pretty much invalidates the whole idea of women in combat in the first place?

Do some reading, it's standard practice among other torture techniques.

my guess is that combat duty for girls in the U.S. Army
with at least be a voluntary thing.
