Re: my 8 year old threatened with PROBATION for sick days!!!
Do 'they' want kids to be sick or what?? My 8 year old 2nd grader brought home a letter from his principal threatening JUVENILE PROBATION for my son and a misdemeanor charge for me if he continued to miss school due to illness. He missed 3 days last semester!!! And he's 8 fucking years old. I know their funding is directly related to attendance... So I guess the remaining public educators DO care more about $$$ than the kids.

Homeschooling is looking better and better every fucking day.

Principals probably an F-ing Moe like this one in the vid.

Seems like Dad could go down there and explain in a nice rational way why School Principals should not beleive they can issue Arrest Warrants.

Idk, what 180 days of school and being around a bunch of runny nosed, fever ridden kids? Good god, there's ring worm, lice, flu, colds, pink eye, you name it. Can't believe they aren't out more than this!

OP I'm guessing those 3 day's are more like 13 day's! I'm calling your bullshit right now, right fucking here!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10601066

6 days first term, 3 last. 9 total. 14 is the max. Why would I make this up?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20373817

Contact Home School Legal Defense Association, look them up online. DO NOT open the door to a social worker DO NOT let them into your home without a warrent. (unlawful searc, etc.) You DO NOT want to become involved in the juvenile justice system--even lawyers don''t want the cases--it's like the Wild West.

Homeschooling is difficult but extremely rewarding. Read the HSLDA website and check out the laws in your state regarding threats for absence during illnesses.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23112689

Agreed! My husband said let the social worker come knocking, he'll be waiting for them.

It's amazing to me.... There are no requirements whatsoever to have a child, but they DAMN sure have no problem policing you once you do have them.

It's ok. I'm like white on rice up there. They all know me.... Attorney is a word they never ever want to hear.

My oldest son does have asthma and my younger son was premature (he had pulmonary hypertension) so his immune system has always been naturally compromised. My youngest is 18 months old, which is still a baby and babies get sick! It shouldn't really matter because I know there are kids at their school with highly compromised immune systems and I don't want to be responsible for getting them sick because I didn't exercise caution with my own kids.

They should stay home if they are vomiting, have diarrhea, or a fever. Or pink eye, severe cough (pre-antibiotic) or whenever else you, as a parent, would rather keep your sick child home than send them to school.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20373817

Yep. And when they are so young, it's crazy. I've kept my little one home when she had a nasty cold and no fever. She just looked beat. Screw that. So she misses the alphabet one day. And I'm friends with some of the teachers, and under their breath, very quietly for fear of being exterminated, they say they don't blame me. They would too.

So, nevertheless, it boils own to... They are YOUR children. And as long as you aren't neglectful or irrational, you should be able to keep them home if you feel it's necessary! They can all SUCK it!
Again, can't wait to get out of the system! And yes, I'll homeschool next year if needed, otherwise one more year and we are out!

Yeah, it's getting crazier and crazier out there.

Socially you can't really tell that much difference from their public school friends except that they are way more independent thinking.

Lots and lots of online schools or complete computer curriculum make it pretty easy. My kids do in 4 hours what takes their friends 8 or more, but still score high on standarized testing. I just had one graduate and he had no problems getting into college.

Several of my friends are teachers and they are so fed up. Every day it is another new rule or addition to the curriculum. Many feel like all they ever do now is "teach to the test" and so many kids just start hating school. Then on top of that they have to deal with sick kids - too sick really to be in school, but not sick enough to risk missing a school day.

It's sad because kids are natural learners, they may not love memorizing and such, but they love to explore and talk about things and think about things. My oldest absolutely hated school (not the teacher's fault) but once home, we realized that he actually likes to learn.

I just don't see how anyone can look themselves in the mirror and not hurl for throwing their kids to the wolves of the government indoctrination camps. It is beyond shameful. I would rather rent a one-bedroom $300/month apartment for my family of 6 and home school than have a respectable house and career and let the state brainwash them daily. If you think you can counter-act the 6+ hours a day of the Marxist, godless, pro-gay, anti-family, anti-value system of Satan you are sadly mistaken.
That's just my two cents though, I am sure most of you all see it differently. Thank God they haven't tried to force us into it yet, as I will gladly give my life in order to keep my kids out of their sick pedophiliac hands.
 Quoting: UnmannedAerialPilot

Most people, myself included, grew up with public school as the 'norm.' I have pulled myself out of that indoctrinated thinking, but a lot of people just do it because its all they know. I have a strong desire to homeschool and my career right now is my kids so I don't have anything to give up. I just don't know how to overcome my own impatience and lack of confidence. Thanks for making me feel like an asshole though ;)
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20373817

I agree totally. I went to public school as well, and can only imagine how far it has degenerated since then. Sorry I wasn't trying to make you feel bad, honestly that was not my intent. If it will help you to see how bad things truly are, and the seriousness of putting a child through the torture of the beast system, then I am glad to make you feel that way! As far as being impatient and lacking confidence goes, it is normal. 99% of public instructors are mental midgets. They read from a teachers book that gives them "answers" and they train in dealing with critical thinkers that question their authority. If any of them can do it, you can do it 10X better. Your kids will thank you one day, and once you start doing it, homeschooling will get a lot easier. There are many great resources out there, just Google it. You will find that when you do things the way God intended (responsible child training) He will bless your efforts greatly! hf
There is only one kind of freedom and that's individual liberty. Our lives come from our creator and our liberty comes from our creator. It has nothing to do with government granting it.

I have experienced this harassment as well .

Rule # 1 Contact a Non-Vaccine proxy legal team , or join on line . They will send you info that is very informative .

Rule # 2 Document every time your child comes home with an illness . Lice or other infectious ailments . Address your concerns w/ the school . Let them know something is going around and the school is on the hook .

Rule # 3 You should meet the Principal , and determine if they are pro- vaccine or indifferent . Some admin's are pressured to push the agenda . Find out who the enemy is .

Rule # 4 Never allow CPS < child protective serv.> to enter your home . In the event that you feel like it's o.k. it's not . These folks are nut's !!! Contact an attorney that is familiar w/ CPS . They have no warrant .

Rule # 5 In the event that you have been intimidated by these socialist's ask for the literal "law" on paper .
If they can provide it .. If things become hostile remember a witness and a video camera / smart phone can be used to capture the debauchery . I recommend this .

Rule # 6 When you are about to lose it remember to name them in the lawsuits personally for causing undo stress as well as interfering in your child's education .

Rule # 7 Inform them that your child stayed home for religious reasons in observance of your "RELIGION "
If they press further for info , politely explain that you are protected by Freedom of religion. Tell them nothing .

The First Amendment to the Constitution protects freedom of religion by banning Congress from passing any law respecting an establishment of religion and from prohibiting people from freely exercising their religion. The Supreme Court has applied these limits to state governments through the Fourteenth Amendment.

Then consider this, OP

The average public school child spends 8 hours per day - that's 1/3 of their young lives - under the conditioning of a government entity, being imprinted that the government has the only valid answers, and that it is the government that solves your problems and conflicts.

This, when figured in with sleeping, eating, travel, etc., gives the child MAYBE 3 hours each day with their parents - those from whom the child should be receiving the greatest education, imprinting, and conditioning.

I'm sure you'll do much better for your child than any public school system - be a mom to your child first, raise your boy or girl in a manner that they can become the man or woman you would be proud of, and the educational process will flow much easier.

I just have to 100% convince my husband... I should have done it when the same principal felt it was okay to have my younger son removed from class to sit in her office when I refused to treat him for 'ADHD.' If you think 6 year old boys should be seen and not heard, you shouldn't't work at an elementary school!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20373817

I know what you mean.

Many years ago when we moved to another state, I was putting my daughter in a new school. The principal gave me a choice between two kindergarten teachers. Apparently I didn't understand the way each taught at first, but when he said, "If it was me, I would choose Miss ...... because you don't want to take the spirit out of your child."

Then I understood that one teacher made the children sit still, and the other let them get up and walk around at times while learning. My daughter did beautifully.

I made a huge mistake when I had her attend a private school in the first grade where the kids had to sit still and not talk. HUGE mistake. The teacher was a witch. They were punished for the slightest things. I didn't know it until the end of the school year that the teacher kept liquid soap in her desk and would "wash" their mouths with it if they talked. FIRST grade! I regret putting her in that school to this day...and that was 30 years ago.

Principals probably an F-ing Moe like this one in the vid.

Seems like Dad could go down there and explain in a nice rational way why School Principals should not beleive they can issue Arrest Warrants.

Wy do you think birth rate among educated is dropping, they don't want kids to go to these brainwashing camps, and don't have time or money to homeschool

Re: my 8 year old threatened with PROBATION for sick days!!!
Yeah, it's getting crazier and crazier out there.

We pulled out 10 years ago, one of the best decisions we ever made. It's tough at first as the kids adjust but given the choice now they choose to be home. There is so much less stress for everyone.

I want to homeschool but I'm not the most patient person so it worries me a little. I would hate to fuck them up anymore than necessary lol

This crossed my mind....but we thought it best to shape their minds ourselves.

My daughter is an RN and my son is doing grad work at MIT

In fact looks like they will do much better than me both money wise and emotionaly!

Very proud of both of them!!

I would tell that principle to go fuck himself and yank your boy out of that school.
 Quoting: sonic doom

I just have to 100% convince my husband... I should have done it when the same principal felt it was okay to have my younger son removed from class to sit in her office when I refused to treat him for 'ADHD.' If you think 6 year old boys should be seen and not heard, you shouldn't't work at an elementary school!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20373817

That principle is a ratard. I don't know a 6 year old that concentrates very well. Kids are kids simple as that.
 Quoting: sonic doom

On the very first day of school and the 2 days that followed my 5 year old boy got sent home with pink slips because he was being "disruptive".

Anyways here they can't do anything unless the child has missed 9 days then they will fail the child after that . After missed 5 days in one semester they will give you a warning .
