do Christians believe dinosaurs existed?
I have seen some Christians say they did not exist... kind of hard to take Christians even a tiny bit seriously if they are that dumb.

I have heard the same thing and I don't see how anyone could deny their existence.

Yes they did. The flood in the story Noah's ark took them out. That's why we have fossils. ~ A Christian.

Yes we believe they existed. Not allChristians think the earth is only 6000 yrs old. Some believe in the Genesis code.Time in space is not the same as time on the earth. This is even quoted in the bible.Since time in space is different than time on earth it would explain why the earth is so old for me.Watch the movie the Genesis Code on netflix for a better explanation. If you really want to know.

The vast majority of Christians fully accept the scientific understanding of evolution (although they generally see it as "Gods plan" or something similar).

Only batshit crazy fundies don't (although quite a few apparently like this site).

15 ¶ Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Lo now, his strength [is] in his loins, and his force [is] in the navel of his belly.
17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 His bones [are as] strong pieces of brass; his bones [are] like bars of iron.
19 He [is] the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his
sword to approach [unto him].
20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 The shady trees cover him [with] their shadow; the willows of the brook
compass him about.
23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, [and] hasteth not: he trusteth that he

Apocrypha: Bel and the Dragon Chapter 1

1 And king Astyages was gathered to his fathers, and Cyrus of Persia received his kingdom.

2 And Daniel conversed with the king, and was honoured above all his friends.

3 Now the Babylons had an idol, called Bel, and there were spent upon him every day twelve great measures of fine flour, and forty sheep, and six vessels of wine.

4 And the king worshipped it and went daily to adore it: but Daniel worshipped his own God. And the king said unto him, Why dost not thou worship Bel?

5 Who answered and said, Because I may not worship idols made with hands, but the living God, who hath created the heaven and the earth, and hath sovereignty over all flesh.

6 Then said the king unto him, Thinkest thou not that Bel is a living God? seest thou not how much he eateth and drinketh every day?

7 Then Daniel smiled, and said, O king, be not deceived: for this is but clay within, and brass without, and did never eat or drink any thing.

8 So the king was wroth, and called for his priests, and said unto them, If ye tell me not who this is that devoureth these expences, ye shall die.

9 But if ye can certify me that Bel devoureth them, then Daniel shall die: for he hath spoken blasphemy against Bel. And Daniel said unto the king, Let it be according to thy word.

10 Now the priests of Bel were threescore and ten, beside their wives and children. And the king went with Daniel into the temple of Bel.

11 So Bel's priests said, Lo, we go out: but thou, O king, set on the meat, and make ready the wine, and shut the door fast and seal it with thine own signet;

12 And to morrow when thou comest in, if thou findest not that hath eaten up all, we will suffer death, or else Daniel, that speaketh falsely against us.

13 And they little regarded it: for under the table they had made a privy entrance, whereby they entered in continually, and consumed those things.

14 So when they were gone forth, the king set meats before Bel. Now Daniel had commanded his servants to bring ashes, and those they strewed throughout all the temple in the presence of the king alone: then went they out, and shut the door, and sealed it with the king's signet, and so departed.

15 Now in the night came the priests with their wives and children, as they were wont to do, and did eat and drinck up all.

16 In the morning betime the king arose, and Daniel with him.

17 And the king said, Daniel, are the seals whole? And he said, Yea, O king, they be whole.

18 And as soon as he had opened the dour, the king looked upon the table, and cried with a loud voice, Great art thou, O Bel, and with thee is no deceit at all.

19 Then laughed Daniel, and held the king that he should not go in, and said, Behold now the pavement, and mark well whose footsteps are these.

20 And the king said, I see the footsteps of men, women, and children. And then the king was angry,

21 And took the priests with their wives and children, who shewed him the privy doors, where they came in, and consumed such things as were upon the table.

22 Therefore the king slew them, and delivered Bel into Daniel's power, who destroyed him and his temple.

23 And in that same place there was a great dragon, which they of Babylon worshipped.

24 And the king said unto Daniel, Wilt thou also say that this is of brass? lo, he liveth, he eateth and drinketh; thou canst not say that he is no living god: therefore worship him.

25 Then said Daniel unto the king, I will worship the Lord my God: for he is the living God.

26 But give me leave, O king, and I shall slay this dragon without sword or staff. The king said, I give thee leave.

27 Then Daniel took pitch, and fat, and hair, and did seethe them together, and made lumps thereof: this he put in the dragon's mouth, and so the dragon burst in sunder : and Daniel said, Lo, these are the gods ye worship.

28 When they of Babylon heard that, they took great indignation, and conspired against the king, saying, The king is become a Jew, and he hath destroyed Bel, he hath slain the dragon, and put the priests to death.

29 So they came to the king, and said, Deliver us Daniel, or else we will destroy thee and thine house.

30 Now when the king saw that they pressed him sore, being constrained, he delivered Daniel unto them:

31 Who cast him into the lions' den: where he was six days.

32 And in the den there were seven lions, and they had given them every day two carcases, and two sheep: which then were not given to them, to the intent they might devour Daniel.

33 Now there was in Jewry a prophet, called Habbacuc, who had made pottage, and had broken bread in a bowl, and was going into the field, for to bring it to the reapers.

34 But the angel of the Lord said unto Habbacuc, Go, carry the dinner that thou hast into Babylon unto Daniel, who is in the lions' den.

35 And Habbacuc said, Lord, I never saw Babylon; neither do I know where the den is.

36 Then the angel of the Lord took him by the crown, and bare him by the hair of his head, and through the vehemency of his spirit set him in Babylon over the den.

37 And Habbacuc cried, saying, O Daniel, Daniel, take the dinner which God hath sent thee.

38 And Daniel said, Thou hast remembered me, O God: neither hast thou forsaken them that seek thee and love thee.

39 So Daniel arose, and did eat: and the angel of the Lord set Habbacuc in his own place again immediately.

40 Upon the seventh day the king went to bewail Daniel: and when he came to the den, he looked in, and behold, Daniel was sitting.

41 Then cried the king with a loud voice, saying, Great art Lord God of Daniel, and there is none other beside thee.

42 And he drew him out, and cast those that were the cause of his destruction into the den: and they were devoured in a moment before his face.

Re: do Christians believe dinosaurs existed?
The apparent contradiction is quite easy to solve when assuming that this universe is a virtual reality. The Bible indicates that the world was created around 6,000 years ago in six days. Establishing the age of Earth is impossible because of the absence of objective reality. Scientific analysis of available artefacts on the ground suggests that Earth has evolved in billions of years, but a writing system was first developed around 5,500 years ago in Mesopotamia, just a few hundred years after Earth has been created according to The Bible.

No written records of human history exist from before this time. Mesopotamia was the location where the Garden of Eden must have been. Eve and Adam may still have been alive when a writing system was first developed, so there is a good chance that the story of Eve and Adam was written down at that time and included later in Genesis.

Based on the information we have now, accident and evolution are the most likely causes of human existence. If there is unlimited time and space then there are unlimited possibilities. Human existence is a possible outcome of a process that lasted billions of years in a universe of billions of light-years in size. DNA shows traces of random development suggesting evolution.

Because of the existence of missing links in the fossil record of species the evidence for evolution is not conclusive, but those missing links may still be discovered in the future. However, the concept of evolution contradicts with the existence of spirits and reincarnation. Therefore the big bang theory as an explanation for the origin of our universe and evolution as an explanation for the origin of species in our universe is doubtful. The materialist big bang and evolution theories imply that a spirit resides in the body and dies with it.

Probably God is part of an advanced civilisation that came into existence by chance and evolution. Creating humans in the image of God therefore means copying humans from God's own world into an imaginary world called Creation. The word image implies that the species are copied and not designed. The copying of images included a fossil record of previous species.

The artefacts suggesting that our universe has evolved in billions of years are the result of The Programme creating a starting point for history to begin with. The transition from the setup phase of The Programme called Creation, and the run phase of The Programme called history, may never be traceable. The Programme is responsible for simulating all physical, chemical and biological laws and evolution in the virtual world. The Programme is so advanced that it simulates human behaviour in detail.

Yes they did. The flood in the story Noah's ark took them out. That's why we have fossils. ~ A Christian.

Not only that but we have the Nephilim in the Bible which says there were giants on the Earth. Maybe dinosaurs are the Nephilim. When Jesus shows up I'm going to ask him...

You lost me on the first bit.
That's not an assumption really is it?
Now come on...that's a whole 360 paradigm change!

The "writing" always gets me too.
I've always appreciated cave drawings as a form of writing or rudimentary communication, albeit in pictogram style.
The oldest found is around 40,000 years old in Spain.

So is that where the Garden of Eden was....?

Drawings are not written records. They do not tell us what happened. There is evidence of human life older than 6,000 years. But evidence is not proof. The universe cannot be 6,000 years while at the same time there were people before that time. If this universe is a virtual reality, then it could explain the contradiction.

Evidence of this universe being a virtual reality:

It doesn't conflict with the old earth creation theory. There is also the theory that whatever life drew breath on this earth is actually part of a seed bank that will be restored to life in the 'new earth'.

I'll disagree with your thoughts on cave drawings. I would suggest that they tell us exactly what was happening at the time and what the focus of those who drew them was.

The first line of your "evidence", in fact the first couple of words in that tell me that it's not evidence at all..."In Genesis...."
Ergo no evidence definitely means no proof whatsoever.

Sorry, next!

What's with this new 'Christian this or that' thread agenda?
1 John 1–3._ 1Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, 3and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God.

Re: do Christians believe dinosaurs existed?
Why would they not have existed? The bible states their were 'giants' in the time before the flood. There have been giant human-like skeletons found as well as giant reptilian dinosaur skeletons.

Whatever Christian denies that has not read the bible...
