A veggie box
I ve been to the local greengrocer and ordered a small vege-box , enough for myself and my son for the week , they let me choose what I wanted , for example my boy hates tomatoes so I asked for 5/6 cherry tomatoes.....I have decided to avoid the supermarket for fruit/veg/meat and stay within the local produce radius where ever possible from now on.....its obvious large chain supermarkets cannot cope with the demand of the customer really especially after the recent horsemeat thing with Tesco.....why isn't someone checking???......will go once a month now for tinned goods and cleaning products.....

Re: A veggie box
I would choose an organic veggie box if possible.

Non-organic veg can be sprayed with fluoride and human waste products,
pesticides and herbicides. NPK fertiliser makes plants grow huge but
prevents the uptake of minerals from the soil. Compare an organic veg
in size to a non-organic one - organic ones usually smaller in size. If the
farmer growing the food does not put minerals back into the soil, its not
going to be in the veg you eat.

Veg grown with fertilisers and pesticides might look great as in no insect
damage and large produce but it has no flavour and high water content.

Grow some of your own food or find a veg wholesaler locally and trace
back where your veg is from.

The more you dig down the food supply chain the scarier it gets.
