Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32098210 I've thought about that a lot. I discussed doing that with my brother, where he would basically ask questions per an outline format and then ask questions off the answers, and see where it leads. |

Don't talk about it, simply do it. Anything else is simply a masturbatory exercise and you'll toss your nut talking about what you're going to write instead of just writing. Quoting: BxMac Heminway's goal (despite what some may think of him) was to write simple declarative sentences. He did that well. He knew how to kill his darlings. I live in NYC and I hear a lot of "theatre" people talking loudly in resturants and coffee shops about their craft. Unfortunately, I see, and hear, them frequently. Their stage has become the resturants and coffee shops they speak loudly in. Where's your page? A writer, writes. I know a writer writes, lol. As I've said, I have already had some smaller works published. I've got 3 novels that I was working on and set aside that I need to get back to. Hundreds and hundreds of pages of work, which does not include notes or any research work. |

Simply, if I choose to do one thing, what other thing won't get done as a result of my choice (I chose to go to the chemist at 10:00 a.m. so I won't be able to see the high-heeled blowsy blonde babe who promised to go down like an anchor on me if I made it to Hoboken with five sugar donuts by 10:00 a.m.). My trip to the chemist cost me a hum job. You spent how much time on this thread talking about writing instead of writing. Opportunity cost. Writers write. |

Did you even read the thread? Apparently not. |

You initially sounded to be an earnest guy looking for insight and support. I tried to give you a simple truth about writing. The more I read of the thread, the more I was lead to conclude you were either full of more shit than a Christmas turkey looking to be stroked as a potential writer or you were an idiot. Quoting: BxMac You keep confirming both conclusions. And how much writing have you gotten done in the last hour? Don't be a dick all your life. lmao You just have no clue, do you... |

"I have felt despair many times in my life, but I do not keep a chair for it." ~Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes Today is a gift, that is why it is called "The Present" “When an opponent declares, “I will not come over to your side,” I calmly say, “Your child belongs to us already… What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.” - Adolf Hitler “If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.” -Oscar Wilde Have a nice day, may God bless you :D |

Once I get that all into Microsoft Word (it's a TON of stuff), I'll start distilling it all and see where I'm at. How about you just write and see what happens. You either know what you know or you don't. :) |

Kendall User ID: 16561399 United States 01/24/2013 02:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am working on a graphic novel and I can tell you that the best thing for you to do is to make sure that you have blood pumping through your body so take exercise breaks one of the things that Dan Brown did was he hung upside down from the bars and pull ups I mean you can exercise do yoga take some breaks. Quoting: Kendall 16561399 Also when you are writing a book or even in my case making a graphic novel always always always have a skeleton for it because that always makes it easier and you won't get as stuck. Have someone proofread it like maybe somebody on here or one of your friends. Anyway that's my two cents I'm really excited to work on my book too, good luck to you! Yes, the energy levels in the body must be high. And, I always create outlines or 'skeletons' when writing anything of length. Good stuff, and good luck with your graphic novel! Thanks! Yes its hard to get started thats the hardest part!!! You just have to find something that will stimulate your dopamine in your brain to keep you going once you start. ;) |
