Reed's statement is such BS, also. Why would you think people at a hunting exhibition would want to support someone who bans guns?

It really makes me wonder just how much pressure is being applied on the flip side to make companies make obviously bad long term economic decisions.

The article is referring to Reed banning assault weapons at the show and people boycotting due to this, not the ban being proposed via the federal government.

Someone should look up these people's names to see if they even exist or the claims really happened.

Interesting that they're listing the USA contact info, as they're supposed to be a British company. I noticed that the original article I posted did not mention this either...

They have a right to ban them. But we have a right not to attend and venders have a right not to exhibit. Getting the gun owners of America mad might not have been the best thing for a outdoor sports show where the vast majority of the attendees are very pro gun.

Actually, what I was wondering...do they have the right to decide to ban something AFTER they had already taken money from those vendors? From what I understood, they said no refunds...my husband heard on one of the talk show channels he listens to that a lawyer was looking to get into a class action lawsuit because of that.

These are all run by Reed?? Wow.

This is BIG,
The show is the biggest in the nation and features several outdoors groups, hundreds of exhibitors and the most popular TV hunting show stars.

I think over 230 vendors and 30some celebrities had already pulled out before they cancelled it. It will be interesting to see if they reschedule.

This is a victory. That large a group can start and run their own show without Reed Exhibitions. It is a very big statement.

There's a website that was created for those who withdrew from the show, I can't remember the link name at the moment, but they were allowing those who withdrew to advertise online for free.

I think the NRA should organise the biggest ever Gun Show in history, that would be one decent smack in the eye :)

There is obviously now an opening for competing shows to take the title of the largest gun show in North America. The free market rules the day long term.

Would be interesting to see if anyone steps up...
