As a Combat vet , I agree with this women do not belong in the front Lines.! They will hold them back or get them killed

They want the bodies of women drug through the street.

They also know combat effectiveness drops significantly with mixed units, it is human nature.

More I dig the odder it gets, this is about diversity quotas, not kidding. The original report has been scrubbed as far as I can see, it has to be out there somewhere but I cannot find it. I really want to read the original report.

Snip; The commission found four reasons for low representation of women and minorities in senior military positions:

-- Low representation of women and minorities in initial officer accessions;

-- Lower representation of women and minority officers in career fields associated with higher officer rank;

-- Lower retention of midlevel female service members; and

-- Lower rates of advancement among female and minority officers.

“Our recommendations were to ensure we remove any potential barriers that exist today; that we make recommendations that enhance the culture, career progression and recruiting [of women and minorities]; and that we grow the pool of eligible candidates,” Lyles said.

The commission recommends that the services consider commitment to diversity in officer promotions and require diversity leadership education and training at all levels.

To further promote diversity, the services must increase their pool of eligible recruits and officer candidates, the report says. Pentagon statistics show that three out of four Americans between the ages of 17 and 24 are not eligible to enlist because of low education or test scores, past criminal history, or because they can’t meet health and fitness requirements.


“This is a national security issue requiring the attention and collected effort of top public officials,” the commission’s report says.

The commission also recommended a new, broader definition of “diversity” that would add backgrounds and skills largely missing from today’s military, such as recruiting people from more varied regions and cultural backgrounds and with foreign-language skills and higher math, science and technological abilities.

“Diversity is all the different characteristics and attributes of individuals that are consistent with Department of Defense core values, integral to overall readiness and mission accomplishment, and reflective of the nation we serve,” the report says.

Any one find the origional report, every link I found is dead.

What really gets me is there is a waiting list to get in the military, so what’s the issue?

Only 3% are combat troops. Female units normally consist of 70% female recruits for a reason, remember you must serve 3 years full time in the Israelis military, then reserves till age 38 even if you have a child.

That statement does not make sense, even in WWI 20% of soldiers were women. Best russian snipers ever were women, learn history.

Because you bet combat troops only care that the best person is next to them in a fight. The issue is they are lowering standards in the name of quotas. I've also never seen a report scrubbed this well, gone throguh 30 dead links so far.

The issue is larger than just this but someone brought it up without proper information.

“History shows that the presence of women has had a devastating impact on the effectiveness of men in battle,” wrote John Luddy in July 27, 1994, for the Heritage Foundation backgrounder.

“For example, it is a common misperception that Israel allows women in combat units. In fact, women have been barred from combat in Israel since 1950, when a review of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War showed how harmful their presence could be. The study revealed that men tried to protect and assist women rather than continue their attack. As a result, they not only put their own lives in greater danger, but also jeopardized the survival of the entire unit. The study further revealed that unit morale was damaged when men saw women killed and maimed on the battlefield,” Luddy said.

Writes Edward Norton, a reservist in the Israel Defense Forces: “Women have always played an important role in the Israeli military, but they rarely see combat; if they do, it is usually by accident. No one in Israel, including feminists, has any objection to this situation. The fact that the Persian Gulf War has produced calls to allow women on the front lines proves only how atypical that war was and how little Americans really understand combat.”

“Few serious armies use women in combat roles. Israel, which drafts most of its young women and uses them in all kinds of military work, has learned from experience to take them out of combat zones. Tests show that few women have the upper-body strength required for combat tasks.

(2) diversity within the Armed Forces is vitally important, not only with respect to promoting innovation and creativity, but also with respect to developing a more inclusive workforce for a fair and just America; When the goal is to kill the other guy as fast as possible and the enemy has the same goal nothing is fair. It is not a work force as Congress lables them.



(3) diversity is a necessity to mission readiness and excellence; What?

Snip; ‘(5) The available pool of qualified candidates for the general officer grades of general and lieutenant general and the flag officer grades of admiral and vice admiral, including an assessment of the qualified racial or ethnic minority and female candidates.’. "Qualified" and "best person for a job" are two way different things.
