That was what '95 or '96. Skip through IBM and Panasonic versions (some submersible) that also utilized Cyrix processors that never overheated and didn't need to be cooled. Boy that tech sure disappeared fast. I believe it was AMD that bought out that tech so you might want to query them as to why they are keeping it buried. Now that were leaving the '90s as a history lesson in this tech we'll leave you with 1999. "A spin-off of miniature-LCD maker Kopin Corp. (Taunton, Mass.), MicroOptical was founded in 1995 and captured a two-year grant from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Darpa) in 1996 for a headgear project. The company's part of the project was to develop a compact microelectromechanical system (MEMS) that could fit into the temple of eyegear, initially a scanning-mirror system that directed light to the eye via optical fiber." But yeah definitely an LCD display. obvious by the stitching. And oh yeah, inside the right arm of the frames. Do you see it? |
