When one thinks about todays electronic's and all things mechanical. It's easy to see how far things have come along.
Maybe those things are easy or easier to improve?
4 things that I personally feel haven't advanced:
1. Medicine/health care. Do I take a multivitamin everyday or will it kill me in the long run? Am I just pissing away money? Why doesn't this toothpaste and mouth wash prevent me from getting cavities? How about all the medicine and it's possible side effects? I still get colds, I still get the flu, I still have allergies.
2. Clothing. Cold in the winter and hot in the summer. I haven't seen any "high tech" clothing that has impressed me.
3. Food. It's very hard to eat healthy, let alone all the time or conveniently. It's like everything we eat or drink is basically poison or bad for us.
4. Temperature controlled climates in housing. In the year 2013; the thermostat and central heat and air is still as crude as it was in the 1960's. Hasn't changed one bit. The house is too hot if the AC isn't running then to cold when it turns on. The house is ice cold then a furnace once the heater is running. So the temperature wildly fluctuates to extremes year round. The problem with the system is that it is either fully on or fully off. And it only has two settings. It needs to be able to "idle" or maintain the temp constantly.
