I was thinking to myself that that was what I get for playing hooky from work. I had the radio on but not loud enough to hear it. I turn it up thinking maybe I could catch what was going on. The local station mentioned nothing. At about 10:00 they break in from Sammy Hagar's "I Can't Drive 55".

In fact, that is a key problem with the response--not a single Newtown cop reported a mass casualty (ever) to dispatch; it wasn't until 10:03 a.m. that EMT Cathy Dahlmeyer finally relayed to Bob Nute, "Call for everything."

So I would add this OP to the list of yet another piece of disinfo floated to make it seem as if the medical response was normal--it wasn't.

Not because the medical guys messed up, but because the cops messed up. Very sad, but very true.

By there own signed statements, cops had no later than 9:51 a.m. found that not two, but 26 students and staff had been gunned down.

Not one, single NPD guy tells this to dispatch.

And according to information snuck through via CSP officers' statements, NPD officers actually found those students and staff much earlier than 9:51 a.m.

Yet no one said anything.

Why?

Anyway, you have all kinds of media pieces and OPs like this thread put out there then to casually insert memes into the public that "we knew this was a mass casualty immediately."

No one knew. That's why there weren't more than two ambulances on scene for more than half an hour after shooting had begun. In other words, those kids bled for a solid half hour before anyone had any clue there were even any kids shot. And NOT because cops didn't know they'd been shot, but because for some inexcusable reason (sorry, but that has to be said at some point) they didn't relay the information as to the staggering jump in patient numbers.

They'll say it's because everyone was dead and there was no point, but how come CSP had the exact OPPOSITE reaction?? It was CSP who told Dahlmeyer to call for everything (even though her interview tried to sort of say Chapman told her this).

You can hear Kullgren start to shut things down the minute things go south--he does tell an ambulance to stage outside the school at some point (it doesn't, because 1) it's not there yet and 2) the roads are hopelessly blocked), but you can hear the hesitation in his voice even though the shooter has been down for ages.

Anyway. Going back to these old threads is really revealing (which is why some of them have vamoosed). Once you placed these strange 'I'm from Newtown!' and media pieces in the context of NPD stalling EMS--worse, they didn't even call for more EMS--almost everything snaps into place.
