The meaning of life is not happiness, it is finding your purpose
In an article that was sort of sitting in my email, I happened to open it in a flipant moment.

I started reading it, and the story is somewhat astounding.

I won't cut paste, if you want to read it you can, and i won't plagerize a really well written piece.

But it goes like this;

"The author of a book written in seven days,which is in the top 10 sellers list in the US, after his stint in a concentration camp, where he lost his family, decided that happiness is only part of our whole equation.

As unique person(a one off), we are irriplaceable in the equation of life; happiness goes with sadness, loss, gain.. etc etc...., finding what you can DO, rather than what you can GET, helps all other areas in your life...

I think along the same line. I think we all have more than one purpose here on earth. You know like a main goal we have to achieve and lots of branches off that. May be. Or may be we are all here because we chose to just for the experience, you know like going sky diving.

Yeah, I don't know why people chase happiness like it's some kind of attainable goal. Really we should just be doing what we feel needs to be done. It's how much you do not how long you live. People are weird like that though.

Thanks CP. It's the not the outcome, it's the journey and the perseverance.

You arent thinking straight because you didnt realize that finding the purpose is the persons way of gaining happiness, or preventing the pain of not finding purpose, so it still reduces to pleasure & pain as the lowest level operating system.

You have a really lot of brain fog because you didnt realize this before you posted -- no matter what you say the purpose of life is, it can then be reduced to the pleasure of that purpose or pain of not having that purpose -- stupid.

Re: The meaning of life is not happiness, it is finding your purpose
I agree because I have no real reason to be unhappy and I am seldom unhappy.
BUT I have tried many things looking for my purpose and at this late date still have not found my purpose.
I am a good person and I help as many people as I can.I am good to animals and I never hurt anyone knowingly.
But my whole life has had a huge hole because I cant find where I fit in and what I should be doing.
