Is This Forum Generally Racist?

Just as with any forum, you are going to find people from all mindsets here. Some are just more vocal than others. Pay attention, and learn whose comments to take seriously.

I definitely do when on certain threads where I can keep track but I don't care enough to really worry about it I'm just wondering like I said. Open and intelligent forum yet racist seems a little weird.

I understand. I have a group of posters that I seek out, and generally ignore the rest. It works, but I get where you are coming from. There are a few on here that make us all look bad.

It's mostly anti-black and anti-Muslim.

I would say the forum has many smart folks. Excluding blacks off course.

this forum is full of bigots racists masogonists and homophobes etc.


BUT there are a good handful of aware and good-souled individuals as well.

Alrighty then. I am half/half any questions? Would anyone care to elaborate/justify? Challenge? To me it just sucks because I thought this was a forum for like minded people and apparently I still must feel above everyone else mentally.

And I will say I understand some people's initial reaction to black culture in the US because of how it is exploited and how many black people here act the same (retarded). But what about the rest of the retarded in other cultures? And what about black people in other parts of the world? I really don't get it....same ol' ignorance?

Society itself is racist. We keep perpetuating racism by reminding ourselves and our kids that it existed.

For instance, my boy is in Kindergarten and with Martin Luther King Jr day behind us and black history month ahead, their class, along with the whole school, is getting more than an earful on what racism is.

Up until 2 weeks ago, the black kids in his class were simply known to him only as classmates. He would play and learn with them, just like any other kid in his class. When we would ask who such and such was in his class, he would non-nonchalantly say "The girl with red hair" or "The boy with the brown skin". They were simply identifying traits that helped him convey who was talking about. He was neither friends nor enemies with the black kids, just the same as other kids in his class; they were just as other Kindergartners would see each-other... kids.

Roll on the MLK and black history month and what do I get? A kid being educated by his school that he HAS to like the black kids in his class. He now insists on liking him, just because he has black skin.

Before this, he had ZERO concept of what racism was and would never have thought twice about it his WHOLE life had he not been influenced by a racist society that continually re-enforces division through celebration.

In the same token, if we, as a society, could stop perpetuating this idea of a racial divide for two generations ( just speculating ), then we could spend more time in schools teaching our kids how to think critically rather than teaching them to like someone because of their skin color.

That is an aspect that I'm surprised I haven't heard before. Truly we shouldn't keep teaching the same old thing and I'm beginning to wonder why they do. That is the problem I have with schools...they're a division of the government. Very wise and thought out. I might be pondering this idea for a while. And just so everyone knows I really couldn't care less about my own feelings and I don't take it personal, trust me. Although, being one who can see what is coming to this world I wouldn't want the people fighting the revolution to have a weak link called racism. Just dumb.
