Re: Prescribed an antibiotic (cipro) and its has screwed me up
Read these peoples side effects, sounds fucked up!

[link to www.topix.com]

"About a week ago I was taking this drug for a Morganella morganii skin infection. I was given a prescription for Cipro 500 MG twice a day for 10 days. Four days into the treatment I had to stop. I had diarrhea and a very sore throat. And it felt like my colon was burning. Especially when I eliminated. I felt that if I had continued taking the drug I may cause permanent damage to my throat and the rest of me so I stopped. Eight days after starting and five days after discontinuing the Cipro I started bleeding from my rectum."

"In 2005 I was prescribed, and took, 8 cycles of Cipro for recurring UTI's. Three years later, I have ruptured tendons and ligaments in my left elbow, left soas, outer aspect of both feet, right knee, right ankle, both rotator cuffs, and left trapezius. Each injury has occurred while engaged in utterly normal, everyday activities like bending over to make my bed or lifting my purse onto my shoulder. I have never experienced prior instances of ligament and tendon rupture. My body is literally "popping" apart and I live in CONSTANT PAIN. The chiropractic and PT bills are staggering. Has anyone out there been personally involved in, or do you know someone who has been involved in, a SUCCESSFUL CLASS ACTION SUIT against the manufacturers of Cipro?"

I dont know how they could sell this crap. The FDA says there alright, fck them too.
To answer my own question: They still make billions even after law suits, when they make enough $$$ and people wise up they take it off the shelf.

cipro was not made to treat anthrax. it does happen to treat anthrax. i have been prescribing cipro for almost 20 years. yes, there is the risk of tendon injury, and it causes some 'caffeine' like symptoms, but in general is a very safe and effective antibiotic. i have taken it myself at least 5 times with no ill effects. the tendon and joint pain will go away after off the meds. if you believe all the fear mongering you read on line...well, you are on glp.

sorry, but the tendon and joint problems don´t always go away after you´re off the meds. i´m still suffering and it´s about 10 years ago that i took cipro!

Re: Prescribed an antibiotic (cipro) and its has screwed me up
I am so sorry that this has happened to you. Cipro can cause tendonitis for sure, and the risk for tendonitis increases if you take steroids (such as prednisone, medrol, etc..) at the same time as Cipro.

As far as the tendonitis, honestly, if you can go see a homeopath, they may be able to prescribe a homeopathic remedy which can reverse the tendonitis, and improve the pain. Homeopathic remedies are very gentle and rarely cause side effects. Remedies can also help cure other problems, and the correct remedies may be able to also cure the problem you went to the doctor for the Cipro in the first place.

If you can't afford to see a homeopath, you can go to www.abchomeopathy.com and go to the forum, and ask for an experienced homeopath to recommend a remedy for you based on your symptoms, and it's free. (A good homeopath will ask you to explain your symptoms.)

As far as the insomnia, you can take some pro-biotics. Go to the health food store and buy some good pro-biotics...the liquid kind you find in the refrigerator. Cipro is a very strong antibiotic, and it wipes out all the good bacteria as well as the bad bacteria. Since 85 per cent of the serotonin in our bodies comes from the good bacteria in our guts, you need to replace the good bacteria asap. Mental symptoms (such as depression, insomnia, anxiety, etc..) can occur from Cipro and other broad spectrum antibiotics, simply because it wipes out all the bacteria. Replacing the bacteria can help replace the serotonin.

Also, if you feel your mental state really deteriorating, talk to your doctor and let them know. And be sure to tell your doctor about the tendonitis pain, too.

I hope you feel better soon!

I have a kidney defect called Medullary Sponge Kidney and I get frequent stones and infections. I was given Cipro once and got an itchy rash all over my body and I felt like I had the flu. It was almost worse than the infection itself, my stomach and joints hurt for a week after only taking two doses. I've never been allergic to anything in my life. Its rotten shit!

You do not need antibiotics for a sinus infection. Get some eucalyptus oil, put a few drops in a pan of boiling water, remove from heat and breathe the steam. Any health food store has this oil.

To PREVENT sinus infections in the future, inhale deeply eucalyptus oil directly from the bottle. Hold one nostril closed and breathe the oil in the other, then reverse. This works. I used to have sinus infections every year. Now no more.

The biggest problem is widespread vitamin D deficiency that makes it very difficult for the immune system to fight off infection...

about sinus infections: i never had any problems with that until about 6 years ago. I started having one infection after another and they were really bad. About 2 years ago i found out that i always get an infection the next day after eating chicken or eggs. First i thought i might be allergic to chicken/eggs but by now i know i´m not coz i get my eggs from a lokal farm these days and i can eat tons of them without beeing sick. My conclusion is, that there´s something wrong with most chicken (at least here in Germany) and whatever it is, it doesn´t get killed by cooking, frying or boiling. Something worth looking into for people with reoccuring sinus infections.

Re: Prescribed an antibiotic (cipro) and its has screwed me up
I started taking it Tuesday night for a sinus infection. Some of the side effects are joint and muscle pain...which I started to get. A popping in my arm and wrist and pain in my arm that I haven't had for years (tendonitis). I read a bunch of information about it and there are yons of horror stories of being being disabeled by, even after 1 pill. I took three. I also causes insomenia and I have tossed and turned trying to sleep for the last 7 hours.

I am in so much pain! The doctor gave me a new antibiodic, Septra DS...I am so scared that Cipro has fucked me up. People are saying it can lead to toxicity. Even the information provided by the pharmacy says side effects can appear months later. Many people are saying they started to get pain and over the next couple days it got worse to where they couldn't walk. It leads to muscle wasting and nerve pain.

I mean even last night I leaned on my arm, plam down and my wrist felt like it was going to break. I am getting shooting nerve pain in my butt and leggs.

Now I can't sleep.

Turns out cirpo was made to treat anthrax. Even PBS wrote an article about how bad it is and that the FDA won't do anything about it.

I am so scared. How can I detox?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23744571

I took that shit and withing hours my legs both hurt like hell and were NOT functioning properly. I had a hell of time walking. I stopped taking it right away.

I was simply 'allergic' to it. Your doctor will explain to you that there are several classes of Antibiotics and will just mark off Cipro for you and go to another class.

You'll be fine, just man up and move on.

It isn't fear mongering! You must be another doctor who has been brainwashed by Big Pharma! What has happened to traditional methods? Sound nutrition? If the proper amount of vitamin D3, E, C, were taken, and proper nutrition...meaning, whole foods without chemicals, our bodies wouldn't even get sick in the first place. If our bodies weren't so acidic from all the garbage we eat, and the lack of sunshine...either with all the sunscreens they have us loading on, or just no sunshine at all. I haven't been sick in years, and I load up on the vitamin D3, between 10,000 to 15,000iu a day, coral calcium, and I eat only organic, as much as possible. Everything we eat is killing us.

If I were you OP, I would look this up on a natural cures sight. Don't be going back and getting another antibiotic. Colloidal silver is a natural antibiotic, as well as apple cider vinegar is great. It has to be the right colloidal silver, so that you don't turn silver yourself!

There is one thing I know, and that is you cannot sue a pharmaceutical company. Don't listen to this "doctor" or government shill.

Cipro for a runny nose is ridiculous behaviour - I'd consider suing your GP - It sounds to me like when folks take their Cars to the Garage to have them fixed and the mechanic deliberately sets something else to break for further business down the road - To a Doctor your Body is a cashcow that needs breaking to fix or trial Drugs/Procedures on.

In other words, we would have to be taking something to help, some form of herb or vitamins - not do nothing. Hence the push for antibiotics - they "help" your body fight infections. At least they USED TO. I'm not sure why antibiotics are so lethal to human beings anymore, but I sure wouldn't take them if I had a choice.

LISTEN UP!

You are being poisoned with FLUORIDE. FLUORIDE. FLUORIDE.

Fluoride is bad shit: It is toxic to muscles, joints, and also your thyroid! Ciprofloxacin is the full name of cipro and any antibiotic with "floxacin" in the name has fluoride in it. Avoid them always!

Clearly you have crossed some threshold so you must not only get rid of the fluoride that cipro added to your system, you should stay away from ALL fluoride.

Here is how to detox:

Stop drinking fluoridating water. Buy bottled.
Stop using fluoridated toothpastes. Buy "Thom's without Fluoride".

Take the following supplements:

Magnesium - twice the recommended dose.
Calcium - twice the recommmended dose.
Vitamin D3 - at least 1000 IU per day.
Iodine - exactly the recommended dose. NOTE do not use potassium iodide, it's too strong. Find a supplement that simply says "Iodine" on it.

These will counteract the fluoride in your system. Fluoride has a very long halflife and will take a long time to clear from your system, but it WILL CLEAR.

Good luck!

Fluoroquinolones are very dangerous. I took Levaquin about 5 years ago and suffered severe headaches for about 2 months afterwards. I recovered... hopefully you will too! Just know that you shouldn't take that kind of antibiotic in the future (and try to avoid all antibiotics if possible).

Colloidal silver is good for infections, To detox yourself, one way, fast and just drink gallons of filtered water for a day or two.
Liver, kidney cleanse, bowel, use herbal formulas.

I use a frequency generator for everything, It would work for sinuses, allergies, sleep disorders, tendinits, muscle pain,Detoxes, including chem trail detox, heavy metals, resonates vitamins and minerals, stimulates nerve endings, pretty much everything.

Very convieniant to have handy,Something pops up, program these frequency's into your generator.: Usualy works within a few hours.

I suggest the VariGamma, its what I use, reasonably priced, and does everything I expect it to. Dont trust meds. There made from poison. They kill more people than do good.

Yes, Cipro and any of the floxicin's can have serious side effects. I read many different articles about this antibiotic as it was one of three that was prescribed to my sister before she started having neurological trouble.

She was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease 3 weeks after taking Cipro and Levaquin(another floxicin).

One result of all of this, for our family, is that none of us will ever take any of the floxin drugs.

Not everybody will have a bad reaction, but why risk it.

The best I can offer in the way of help is to keep you in my prayers and advise to looking at a natural way of healing.

Hope you will be better soon.

Big Pharma definitely doesn't want us to be healthy. They can't make money from us if we are healthy. That is why the FDA passes so many foods out there that are loaded with chemicals...because they eventually make us sick, then we have to get pills to make us better. Take 1 pill, and then you can be assured, that by the time you hit 60, you will be taking 4 or 5 pills for one reason or another. Usually, to counteract the bad effects of the previous pill they prescribed you!

Doctors, for the most part, are just ignorant pill pushers for Big Pharma. At one time, they used to try and keep us healthy by talking about nutrition and exercise, but now, they just pick up their BIG book, and prescribe a drug.

Re: Prescribed an antibiotic (cipro) and its has screwed me up
I took it once and ended up in my son's spare wheelchair for the day because of excruciating leg cramps. The stuff is poison!!! All of the fluoride ones are.

Get a neti pot and dose up on vitamin C. If I do have a bad enough sinus infections, I get a Zpak. I also make my own kefir to put in good bacteria.

And if you do not mind my asking, why are you being prescribed Antibiotics anyway?

for a sinus infection.

Cipro,

Ffs.

how exactly does that doctor benefit from prescribing the cipro? the patient is already in the office, and he/she will be paid for the visit. there is no extra payment for the Rx. and how are you diagnosing a runny nose vs a sinus infection via the internet? morons.

Cipro is a broad spectrum antibiotic. I have to wonder what the doctors know this flu season. 90% of the people I know who have gotten a flu or virus that turns into a sinus or other respiratory infection this season, has been prescribed Cipro. I had a bladder infection last month and my doctor prescribed Cipro. I asked the nurse why an antibiotic that was so potent instead of the usual drugs given and she said because it deals most bacteria that can cause infections.

I find it all strange.

Cipro is not the only antibiotic that can cause the tendonitis etc. issues. Levaquin can have the same side effects.

Also, I saw someone else say something about vitamin D.....good advice.
