Prescribed an antibiotic (cipro) and its has screwed me up
I started taking it Tuesday night for a sinus infection. Some of the side effects are joint and muscle pain...which I started to get. A popping in my arm and wrist and pain in my arm that I haven't had for years (tendonitis). I read a bunch of information about it and there are yons of horror stories of being being disabeled by, even after 1 pill. I took three. I also causes insomenia and I have tossed and turned trying to sleep for the last 7 hours.

I am in so much pain! The doctor gave me a new antibiodic, Septra DS...I am so scared that Cipro has fucked me up. People are saying it can lead to toxicity. Even the information provided by the pharmacy says side effects can appear months later. Many people are saying they started to get pain and over the next couple days it got worse to where they couldn't walk. It leads to muscle wasting and nerve pain.

I mean even last night I leaned on my arm, plam down and my wrist felt like it was going to break. I am getting shooting nerve pain in my butt and leggs.

Now I can't sleep.

Turns out cirpo was made to treat anthrax. Even PBS wrote an article about how bad it is and that the FDA won't do anything about it.

I am so scared. How can I detox?

So sorry for you OP.

Hubby is going thru it. It has been a nightmare but he is getting better now.

My guide to diagnosing and treating him was "The flox report" which I found online. No doctor dared to corraborate my diagnosis, and no doctor could threat him because his lab work is more then perfect.

Pain, insomnia, weight loss, acute tendinitis, psycosis are some things he has gone thru for about 7 months now.

Things to avoid: Any kind of pain medicine, specially costicosteroids.

Things that help: Magnesium , witch hazel, esential oils specially roman chamomille.

See a phsyciatrist for help with sleeping pills.

Eat a healthy diet too!

cipro was not made to treat anthrax. it does happen to treat anthrax. i have been prescribing cipro for almost 20 years. yes, there is the risk of tendon injury, and it causes some 'caffeine' like symptoms, but in general is a very safe and effective antibiotic. i have taken it myself at least 5 times with no ill effects. the tendon and joint pain will go away after off the meds. if you believe all the fear mongering you read on line...well, you are on glp.

Re: Prescribed an antibiotic (cipro) and its has screwed me up
I've gotten into the habit of researching all medications I take, and you'd be shocked at some of the reported side effects. I take cipro when I need antibiotics(like maybe twice a year, if that)..because I'm allergic to penicillin. It has no side effects for me at all. I have to be very careful because some medications cause weird things for me. Like one time I went to the ER for a migraine, and I don't mean a little headache, I have death migraines that make you want to shoot your head off. They gave me compazine, and I always tell them I can't have benadryl because it makes my heart race. A few years ago they gave me benadryl and it made my heart get to 200 bpms and I've never taken it ever again. Well anyway, they gave me compazine, and it's supposed to have benadryl with it, at the time migraines were new to me and I didn't know that the two were supposed to go together to counter act the side effects of compazine. Well with about 5 minutes of an IV injection of that stuff, I went completely mental. I couldn't stop moving my body, my hands and legs went completely restless and my jaw started chattering. My hands were moving like I was mentally handicapped. It was so terrifying and then the psychological affects hit me, I started to get overly paranoid and ripped my own IV out and snuck out and RAN out of that hospital as fast as I could. It lasted two days, and I went to a different ER because I was scared of the one I went to before, and they had to give me ativan to calm my body down. It was terrible. I've had a ton of ER experiences that are incredibly frightening, so now I'm sure to talk to the nurses before they give me any medication.

Re: Prescribed an antibiotic (cipro) and its has screwed me up
First off relax. Take a deep breath and slowly let it out. Do that several times it helps.

Now, I have taken cipro several times. It did have some latent side effects, but for the most part they disappeared after discontinuing use. I took the full prescribed courses in 2 cases.

In one, my Achilles tendons did start to hurt with movement after say taking a ride in a car. Getting out actually hurt pretty bad in those Achilles, which is one of the known problems of cipro. But I have since recovered and hopefully it wont be back.

yeah, it's a strange antibiotic for sure. Can cause the achilles to rupture, which I'm thinking is strange enough, but what else does it do to connective tissues? I say scrap that cipro for amoxicillan, which usually works pretty well, even on some skin mrsi infections.

Doctors are blowing thew mrsi out of proportion because the new antibios don't work like they should, therefore, they say take this and then this as a supplement, which is a double barreled hit of two newer antibios.
'
My mother had mrsi on her arm, and just took amoxicillan and used black salve and got over it no problem. I had mine cut open, which left a pretty good scar, and then was put on cipro etc....not worth it imo...but again, everyone is different. Check with Doctor before using just amoxicillan and black salve as skin mrsi treatment.

Break the Patient and you can prescribe away $.

Rx is not a term I am familiar with...?

By 'runny nose' I was simply quipping, but unless the OPs' Sinuses were being eaten away it would be best to let the body do its' thing - Generally I have found with infections that the time it takes for the ABs' to start working is usually not much longer than it would have been for a immune system clearance.

Antibiotics wipe out the good bacteria as well as the bad, so if you take enough for long enough, there's a chance that you'll have to get a fecal enema...that's where they take fecal matter from a healthy person and literally shove it up your ass...see, there are millions of different kinds of bacteria in our GI tract and science only has names for just a few of them.

Colloidal silver is good for infections, To detox yourself, one way, fast (dont eat) and just drink gallons of filtered water for a day or two.
Liver, kidney cleanse, bowel, use herbal formulas.

I use a frequency generator for everything, It would work for sinuses, allergies, sleep disorders, tendinits, muscle pain,Detoxes, including chem trail detox, heavy metals, resonates vitamins and minerals, stimulates nerve endings, pretty much everything.

Very convieniant to have handy,Something pops up, program these frequency's into your generator.: Usualy works within a few hours.

I suggest the VariGamma, its what I use, reasonably priced, and does everything I expect it to. Dont trust meds. There made from poison. They kill more people than do good.

programing is easy.

Read these peoples side effects, sounds fucked up!

[link to www.topix.com]

"About a week ago I was taking this drug for a Morganella morganii skin infection. I was given a prescription for Cipro 500 MG twice a day for 10 days. Four days into the treatment I had to stop. I had diarrhea and a very sore throat. And it felt like my colon was burning. Especially when I eliminated. I felt that if I had continued taking the drug I may cause permanent damage to my throat and the rest of me so I stopped. Eight days after starting and five days after discontinuing the Cipro I started bleeding from my rectum."

"In 2005 I was prescribed, and took, 8 cycles of Cipro for recurring UTI's. Three years later, I have ruptured tendons and ligaments in my left elbow, left soas, outer aspect of both feet, right knee, right ankle, both rotator cuffs, and left trapezius. Each injury has occurred while engaged in utterly normal, everyday activities like bending over to make my bed or lifting my purse onto my shoulder. I have never experienced prior instances of ligament and tendon rupture. My body is literally "popping" apart and I live in CONSTANT PAIN. The chiropractic and PT bills are staggering. Has anyone out there been personally involved in, or do you know someone who has been involved in, a SUCCESSFUL CLASS ACTION SUIT against the manufacturers of Cipro?"
