I'm considering god, but need a rational reason to actually believe. I would never take blind faith, as you could end up in any religion just dependant on the influence around you.

Anyway, I'm searching, but need a rational way to decide.

Start studying bible prophecy with the intent of disproving it.

You'll end up becoming a believer.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32979804

Are you implying that the bible has some hyphnotic element embedded in it? Some mechanism to turn people into fanatics?
I'd agree with that.

Anyway OP; if you wish to worship a true, tanglible God, worship the universe as a whole and abide by its eternal laws (which we still have to strive to discover and examine).
Obviously there's more than meets the eye but when you start going beyond what you can prove you begin the downward path of the cowards.
"White privilege" is the liberal religion's version of Original Sin: you are born guilty, and you carry that burden of guilt all your life, and the only way to escape eternal damnation is for white people confess their sin, to bow, kneel and believe the dogma of the Church of Liberalism, genuflect at its altars, honor its saints, fill the collection plate, and never, ever doubt.

Re: I'm an Atheist. Why should I believe in a god? Which god? and why?
and the simplest way, just pray
"God if you are real, show me. Talk to me. Fill me with your spirit. If you are real I want to know you" etc

Act like "God" is standing in your room with you, converse with Him. If you dont get any breakthroughs then make your own decision. If you truly knock on the door with an open heart, you will get the answers you are looking for

Been there, done that, didn't work.

Now let me guess, you are gonna blame me for not trying hard enough?

What about the billions of non-Christians (past and present) who have tried similar methods and came to the conclusion that Islam was right or that Buddha really is the way to enlightenment? Did they also all not try hard enough?

GOD knows the heart, that is what he hears, if your not sincere or honest in finding him, he will know...If you are sincere and ask GOD....I am a simple man or woman and I don't understand how to believe in you and I don't understand why Jesus is the only way to come to you, please guide me in my journey to find you, and I will tell you this if you are sincere he will come to you, it is your faith. Your statement already excludes possibilities like for example "If not evolution, then it means there's a Creator or it means a whole bunch of creators or it means we are just a computer program in a very powerful AI or the thousands of other possibilities."
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22089462

If any of your bold stuff is also true, then someone created them too, being a Creator.

Or.. everything came from a rock.

Your choice.

This topic is so complex that nobody wants to spend time reading it, so let's get out of the weeds and go way up to the top level and simplify it the best as possible -- This is all I'm doing.

Once you pick "left" or "right" you can then decide how far into that side you want to go.

OP is on the fence and wants to know which way. I'm suggesting research -- Most people already decide spending 45 minutes is too time consuming to invest in knowledge. At least OP is going to check it out. :)

Are you serious or playing? Using the intellect, and doing research, there are numerous proofs of God, but no matter how logical the arguments are, I doubt they are persuasive.

Why? An argument appeals to the intellect. The intellect looks for observable phenomena (evidence), compares that to logical statements, listens to the voices of proponents and critics, and then analzes it himself or herself.

What's missing? Love. Love is not logical. You can't prove it ever. There's some evidence but it's largely circumstancial. No one looking outside your heart (proponents or critics) or even the Beloved can know your heart. There's no way to validate it with analysis or logical or evidence. It won't compute.

Honestly, the people who have been spoon fed are the ones who get sucked into religion. For most, however, it's not really their fault. Religion is generally passed down from generation to generation and it's what people grow up with. They, in turn, pass it down...and so forth and so on.

I don't believe people have been healed by "him." I see it more as a religious placebo effect. Never underestimate the power of thought.

You shouldn't be an atheist because it is bound to theism. It's a denial of theism, which in a way gives credence to it.

GOD is a Spirit and energy that is the CREATOR-of all that is created..

he created a magnetic field,, and has a magnet draws metal to it, GOD draws us to him, when we turn on the energy in our hearts mind and soul through faith to draw us to GOD...

Well first, you asked for rational ways, so I provided a philosophical look (Metaphysics) at the existance of a supreme being. Before you discount anything, there's about 100 pages of logical reading, so I know you have read it yet.

Second, while not all spiritual systems were relational, most were. Certainly monotheism is. The realtionship of YHWH is one based upon Love, and hence relevent.

In YHWH there are two main principles. 1) God is the basis for Being or Existance. 2) God is the personification of Love. As such, you can't remove the Love element.

...
By the way, any Christians reading this, and I am a Christian of many decades(immersed by baptism and born of the Holy Spirit and born again), you cannot use the Bible to logically prove God. If you begin there, you immediately will fail. Since an atheist places no value on the Bible, hence it has no authority, then quoting from it, or even most principles will not ever persuade them.

Witnessing is about testimony in Law, and hence it can be persuasive, but always is circumstancial. It is no proof.

By the terms of the first post, what the OP is looking for is reason. The only way to debate or have a dialectic (look it up if you don't know, or else you will automatically fail), is to use philosophy. One cannot use the Bible or witnessing to persuade the mind of an atheist. It won't compute. Those things have merit to a person who desires to believe and hence they are using their heart (soul) to be persuaded. Those people when being an evangelist, you can persuade.

Oh boy. I searched "100 reasons why evolution is so stupid"
and my heart sunk. It was made by Kent Hovind! He is so discredited. I've seen this before and looked up the evidence he uses. He uses out dated info and techniques that don't work and flawed logic. And is down right dishonest, he knows his "science" has been proven wrong time and time again, but he still uses it on people that don't know that. For every arguement he makes there is at least 1 debunk against it.

I believe that love is a natural human emotion that's being wrongfully exploited by basically suggesting that without god, there would be no love.

I don't think you're serious, just having some fun with Christians or other spiritual systems. If you're serious as you claim, then you'd spend some time actually reading the logical arguments that you asked for. Since you have not, then I doubt your intentions.

I also think that you've had no training in philosophy or debate, for you are not answering questions in any logical way, only making some subjective observations, which you also are not proving by the way. You haven't built any logical statements, provided evidence of their veracity, or came to a conclusion as a result of reason and logic.

But since you may be young, I'll indulge you. You said, "I believe that love is a natural human emotion that's being wrongfully exploited by basically suggesting that without god, there would be no love."

Prove why that is so.

You should know that you cannot prove a negative, at least near impossible for a beginner in debate. It's a logical fallacy. It's called Evidence of Absence.

That statement is impossible to prove. Your statement is also false, for I never made that claim.

To prove that the absence of X will result in the absence of Y is very difficult.
