Proof - Euromillions rigged

So it's not Sandy Hook, UFO's, The Nobody or Guns related - but this could be a certifiable conspiracy to defraud the public and there's proof that needs answers................

when you buy tickets for multi draws, your raffle number will be prior to the first number sold on the next or subsequent draws, obviously, so if your ticket wins in subsequent draws, it will be prior to the first number sold in those draws

that's what i thought; but, don't you have to buy into every draw?

That idea was put forward in the video, but there would appear to be a very disproportionate amount of people winning who buy tickets in advance - I don't know anyone who buys advance tickets for the Euromillions draw, they don't have one of those handy little plastic wallets for this purpose like the regular lotto.

It is very easy to buy tickets in advance online through their website. You can type the numbers in, which draws, Tues, Fri or both and how many weeks.

which can make sense, statistically. but we need numbers to be sure.

That'll be a big auditing job - I can't see that much historical info past the previous 10 draws. I wonder if players have the right of audit or whether it would be sent if requested

I've checked my last raffle number for 22 Jan 2013 which was in the PCF948000 range

The winning ticket was NBV801959

Previous draw was NBX768404

So there are millions of numbers ahead of the NBV winning number all the way up to PCF948000, remember there are 999,999 numbers for each alphabetical prefix - really what are the chances of it randomly picking a number behind it?

And then for that to have happened 3 times in a month!!!

how does the numbering go? three letters (incremental, following the alphabet), followed by one million numerical combinations. are you sure it is incrementally sold?

is the number printed in advance on the ticket, or is it printed at time of sale, with an online ticket system?

Three letters are alphabetically ordered incrementally follwoing the alphabet, and are then followed by 999,999 numbers which are also incremental.

This is confirmed by Euro-millions organisation.

Another interesting aspect is that the number is just shown at the end of the actual lotto balls draw - it just comes up and there is no draw shown as such so there appears to be no independent verification process

So there are three reverses in the vid. But two were on the larger Christmas and new year draws. You would expect a lot of advanced sales for these draws. People buy them as presents etc well in advance. The latest one could just be a fluke in line with a likey statistical likelihood.

But I would not be at all surprised is they did rig it a bit. We will never find out though.

Yes - the expanation for the number being behind is due to advance sale being entered the week it was bought for - but the amount of numbers ahead of it makes this statistically unlikely, and to have happened 3 times in one month makes it mind blowing.

I would go as far as to say the amount of tickets bought in advance would be a tiny %age of total tickets sold

And you would also expect a larger amount of sales just for the draw.

voila. it's too difficult to proof something, if you don't have all data. and a company organising a lottery, probably has enough math wizards on board to know this very well.

Also worth remembering that the 'Millionaire Raffle' is just an add-on to the overall draw - it's not why people play this lottery as the minimum on any week is £12 million and the raffle is somewhat of a 'booby' prize, not that I wouldn't mind winning it!

Keep an eye on it. If it keeps happening let the press know. They would love the story. They dont have to it is definitely happening. Just show the really unlikely odds of it doing do.

But are you sure lots of syndicates don't buy up loads of tickets for the next few months. I think syndicates make up quite a large percentage of sales.

Perhaps a FOI request might be worth looking at, but to me the unlikely odds are there in front of me...........

2 of the reverses happened on the mega draws on xmas day and new years day, 25 draws a time

statistically you'd expect a handful of the winners to be prior buys

so the whole basis of the vid is one occurrence, the most recent. we'd need more evidence than one time.

If we both buy a ticket now me first but for friday you second but for tuesday.
