Rome is the ruler over Jerusalem when Revelation was written. Luke:21:24 is 70AD and the beginning of the 'time of the Gentiles', Re:11 states that there is 42 months left of that time period. It is over when the two witnesses are killed and Satan and Co have control of Jerusalem (Iron)for 4 days and on the same day the two are raised Satan and all sinners are in the grave. The Beast and the False Prophet (the 4 fallen angels released when the 6th trump sounds) are sent to the fiery lake the same day.

This is related to the 5th trump, Satan is in power for woes number 1 and 2, Christ is in charge for the 3rd woe and it is more violent in that one day than all of satan's 3 1/2 years.
There were also people possessed by demons when Christ walked this earth......some of whom He delivered.
