Senator Begich: We cannot allow the rights of a few to override the safety of all. That is not the America that our founding fathers envisioned.
From The Congressional Record on January 24, 2013:

It will be an uphill battle--all the way. I know this.

But we need to ask ourselves:

Do we let the gun industry take over and dictate policy to this country? Do we let those who profit from increasing sales of these military style-weapons prevent us from taking commonsense steps to stop the carnage?

Or should we empower our elected representatives to vote their conscience based on their experience, based on their sense of right and wrong and based on their need to protect their schools, their malls, their workplaces and their businesses?

This legislation is my life's goal. As long as I am a member of the Senate, I will work night and day to pass this bill into law. No matter how long it takes, I will fight until assault weapons are taken off our streets.

Put simply, we cannot allow the rights of a few to override the safety of all. That is not the America that our founding fathers envisioned. And that is not the America I want my children and grandchildren to live in.

So I ask everyone watching at home: please get involved and stay involved.

The success or failure of this bill depends not on me, but on you. If the American people rise up and demand action from their elected officials, we will be victorious. If the American people say ``no'' to military-style assault weapons, we will rid our Nation of this scourge.

Please, talk to your senator and your member of Congress.

By Mr. BEGICH (for himself, Mr. BLUMENTHAL, Ms. AYOTTE, Mr. BENNET, Mr.

The problem with outright lies like that Senator spewed is that so many people now-a-days don't know history and won't step away from latest sheople sensation on television long enough to read about it... if they can even read at anything better than a txt msg lvl.

Rights are given by God. I will not allow lying lying government goons to take them from me. That is exactly why the founding fathers wrote the second amendment in the first place.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

No. I agree with the senator! The senator doesn't realize he's actually talking against the bill. In real language of people that are sheople, he's correct.

I will not allow the actions of a few rights violators to threaten the safety and security of my family by allowing them to take the most effective defense tools from me.

...and besides, their "laws" don't matter. There is but one law, the law of the land. Until they change that, they can kiss my hairy, white, fat ass. They are the lawbreakers and they will pay.

"A well regulated militia being necessary for the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

===

Dear Mrs. Feinstein,

STOP YOUR ATTEMPT AT INFRINGING!!! It said "The People" not "The Militia". If it had meant the militia, would it have not said "The Militia"? Of course it would have!

Regardless, in my state, I am the militia:

Indiana Constitution, Article 12, Section 1. If you are 1 second older than 17, you are part of the militia until you're death.

Labeled the "Sedentary Militia", its the militia that is not sent anywhere. We don't move. We're stationary, as in, around home and in our communities.

You can't deny my access to any firearm that I wish to use. Between the Second Amendment (quoted above) and Article 1, Section 32 of the Indiana Constitution, any attempt to regulate arms is null and void. Attempts to enforce your unlawful edicts will be met with deadly force from the very arms you wish to restrict.

Molon Labe, if you dare.

Here is some sleuthing:

It has been about two decades since I talked to Nick Begich about selling his book Angels Don't Play This Haarp. Nick lives(d?) in Alaska.

His father died in a plane crash that Nick thought strange. In fact I'm pretty sure he said on the Art Bell Show that he thought his father had been assasinated by the Russians (plane shot down, something like that, it has been awhile, lol).

His father's name is Nick Begich.

His brother appears to be this Mark Begich.

So, we got two brothers. One argues that the US Military is taking over the world with Haarp technology (don't trust the .gov),

and now his brother wants to disarm the American People (trust .gov).

Strange also that I couldn't find a Wikipedia article on Angels Don't Play This Haarp or Nick Begich junior. I didn't look too hard, I wanted to post this info first.

This poster is a shill, totally disinformed, and disinforming. The WHOLE POINT is to defend our rights from being completely taken over by these socialists who are giving away the sweat of the brows of the American workers to illegal immigrants, lazy non-workers, and the gun owners right now are the ONLY THING keeping us OUT OF THE FORCED LABOR CAMPS WHICH ARE READY AND WAITING (built with OUR tax money,) waiting to guillotine innocent Americans and bury them in shallow mass graves, ALREADY DUG!!!!!!!!!!

The whole of that Bill [of Rights] is a declaration of the right of the people at large or considered as individuals...t establishes some rights of the individual as unalienable and which consequently, no majority has a right to deprive them of.

Albert Gallatin, letter to Alexander Addison, October 7, 1789

There is little need of commentary upon this clause. No man can well doubt the propriety of placing a president of the United States under the most solemn obligations to preserve, protect, and defend the constitution. It is a suitable pledge of his fidelity and responsibility to his country; and creates upon his conscience a deep sense of duty, by an appeal, at once in the presence of God and man, to the most sacred and solemn sanctions, which can operate upon the human mind.

Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution, 1833

Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? It is feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American...[T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people.
