What exactly is the policy regarding this?

I understand the reasoning; I have seen horribly cruel things said to such posters and cringe to think they may have been pushed over the edge by something they read here when most everyone else is trying to comfort them. BUT is it possible that perhaps mods &/or people they ask to help could respond to the distraught person after taking down the thread? For whatever it is worth, at least an effort would have been made. I completely agree with you Ralph. Some of the comments are totally inconceivable. Words are powerful and people need to respect that. In such a sensitive situation.. if you can't think of something uplifting to say .. LEAVE THE THREAD. No need to tell how much better the world would be without them! Even if I were not a Christian.. I could never, ever fathom saying anything that would hurt or possibly be the catalyst for causing someone to do harm to themselves. We will be held accountable. That should just be human instinct 101. Whether or not they realize it.. I believe they will be considered "guilty by association" and will be Judged accordingly. An effort should be made to guide them to an agency where they can seek help. To just arbitrarily dismiss them without any further action is unconscionable.
