Mother's horror after discovering dummy TAPED to her four-month-old baby boy's mouth at scandal-hit NHS Trust
Welcome to Obamacare of the Future, the NHS.

Baby Mason was in intensive care at Stafford Hospital when a nurse tapped a dummy in his mouth to stop him crying.

Staffordshire Police launch investigation into the incident

Mid-Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust said the baby boy was unharmed
One member of staff has been suspended over the incident

The trust is already at the centre of a public inquiry into failings of care

Up to 1,200 patients are thought to have died from poor care at the hospital

Murrica!... oh wait thats those civilized Brits that taped a damn pacifier to the mouth of a preemie with respiratory problems, wet lung I'm sure.

/shrugs monkeys will always be monkeys. Why it was ever considered that monkeys could ever be anything other than that gets so far passed me.

not excusing the behaviour of the nurse but if my 4 month old was in ITU i wouldn't be 'returning' from anywhere

i wouldn't leave them long enough to cry long enough for a nurse to have to tape a dummy to his mouth
i would be there pacifying him, myself

i read the article- 23 yr old with 3 older kids and the twins father has already split but was around when the little one was in hospital -he could have looked after the others while she stayed with this- her youngest , sickest sick child
personally i couldn't leave a 4/12 old child of mine in ITU alone -not condoning the nurse - it's a barbaric thing to do -but where was the mother?

it's not free day care-it's a hospital

Phew. I was getting a very odd visual on this before you explained that a 'dummy' is a 'pacifier'.

Either way - it's despicable.
