Yay! Got out internet back. Still no mobile service and can only ring people on the same exchange as me on the landline. Lost it Sunday arvo as the both the main and backup fibre cables were washed away north of Bundaberg. Only affected Telstra lines which is like 90% of the population.

edit: all EFTPOS facilities were down, so no banking, ATMs, and shit load of shops unable to process. Had to drive round for a few hours to find an ATM connected via OPTUS to get cash to get bloody petrol

They had to put the toddler in a like a sports bag and zip it up, then winch him up because the harness was too big and it was too wet to try to keep a grip on the little fella. You'd think someone would have thought about the harness and small children beforehand aye.

rantWait for some fuckwit to tell you this is all normal cause you know this is the land of the great drought and flood. They ll try and tell you this is all normal.

They slap you with a new tax to fix the problem. Cause taxes fix everything dont ya know. The Money raised from the tax, what is it being spent on? you ask. One would guess development in renewable energy. So why is it that we are still reliant on coal power for our funcking electricity and still driving around in oil powered vehicles when the tech has been there for years just waiting to be developed.

But did you hear we found trillions of dollars worth of oil in Oz so I guess we dont want to spend all that money raised through carbon taxes on alternative energy research now would we. Cause that would make that oil not all that valuable anymore. You know what we deserve to die like rats because our mentality from the top echelon of society all the way to the bottom is fucked.
