I say deputize everyone in all the states!
My other post on this subject doesn't seem to be hitting any nerves..

"Gun Owners of America Executive Director Larry Pratt shares Sheriff Mack’s opinion.

“The county sheriffs need to act and make new deputies to stop federal authority in the counties,” Pratt told WND. “This is a defensible idea. He can deputize people to serve since they are the ones who voted for him to represent them. A lot of citizens would stand up for their Second Amendment rights if they were protected by the sheriff.”

He cited a move that already is surging among states to adopt laws and use the Tenth Amendment to curb federal activity. The Tenth Amendment simply reserves to the states and the people all responsibilities not specifically assigned to Washington in the Constitution."

Actually, in Illinois, all able bodied adults are members of the Illinois militia already. Shouldn't they be prepared to serve when mobilized?

The sheriff has you all duped.

"We The People" are the police and the military but the politicians forgot about that.

I replied to someone regarding using our rights (which are quickly being eroded...), by highlighting the positives of being a duly appointed sheriff. Adding to my reply, I would add the question: Who will lead the militia? If I have a legally voted in by the people sheriff that's willing to oppose the federal government to protect my 2nd amendment right and in doing so gives me immunity from prosecution from performing my sworn duty, I'm going the sheriff route.

"We already do have the right to uphold the Constitution, skippy. Its just too much trouble for most of us to be bothered with. Our rights don't come from Congress or some Sheriff. They come from elsewhere, outside of their jurisdiction."

My reply:
Yeah, but the Sheriff could authorize you as a deputy sheriff to legally use a fully automatic weapon, armored vehicle, etc. You would be immune from prosecution as a deputized sheriff.

Hey thanks! My state (N.M.) recently had 30 of 33 sheriffs descend on the state capitol to remind them of their (sheriff's) sworn duty to uphold the 2nd amendment and that the legislators and governor had better keep that in mind (paraphrasing as I couldn't find the article at the time of post). I was pretty stoked!

I was on your other post, now I'm on this one, somebody that knows a local sheriff needs to pick his mind and find out what the likely hood would be.

I have friends in the sheriff's department (pretty large operation and lot of sheriffs and staff), and also in the local city police. Gonna look into it.

Gotta stand up with whoever will stand up for us. Local PD or sheriffs. Just that sheriffs are the ones directly in defiance of the feds right now, Haven't heard about any municipal or state police backing the citizen's 2nd amendment rights. Just county sheriffs.

Fear your local pd for they have forgotten about their oath. Your sheriff will be there for you he hasn't forgotten his. Otero county sheriff Benny House is our sheriff. Support him all the way.
