No such thing as "a" God of the Bible.

There is the God of the living in the Bible, believed in by Moses, the prophets and Jesus and his followers.

And there is the 'god of the dead' believed in by the Pharisees, Paul and the Christians.

Belief in the 'god of the dead' is associated with the belief in both the physical raising of a dead body from the grave and an after-death metaphysical existence of rewards and punishments ('heaven' and 'hell').

Belief in the God of the living is associated with the belief that the Doctrine of "resurrection" is, instead, similar to the Buddhist Doctrine of 'Rebirth'.

One cannot believe in the 'god of the dead' and the God of the living at the same time.

There is no "middle" ground.

You believe in either one or the other.

Depends what you mean by the God of the Bible.

Jesus said the Father was a spirit and they must worship him in spirit and truth.

Better question to ask is what is a spirit.

Most people confuse spirit for there own thoughts. So pray to God with their thoughts and words.

Whereas the way of the prophets was to receive revelations from the Father.

Be still and know God was the saying.

I've run the gammut of a few religions and the power is strictly within people. Take away the religion and the power still exists within, the power of fixed energy. Religions take different approaches to the same energy.

[26] For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens. [27] Praise and magnificence are before him: strength and joy in his place. [28] Bring ye to the Lord, O ye families of the nations: bring ye to the Lord glory and empire.

[29] Give to the Lord glory to his name, bring up sacrifice, and come ye in his sight: and adore the Lord in holy becomingness. [30] Let all the earth be moved at his presence: for he hath founded the world immoveable.

[31] Let the heavens rejoice, and the earth be glad: and let them say among the nations: The Lord hath reigned. [32] Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all things that are in them. [33] Then shall the trees of the wood give praise before the Lord: because he is come to judge the earth.

[34] Give ye glory to the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. [35] And say ye: Save us, O God our saviour: and gather us together, and deliver us from the nations, that we may give glory to thy holy name, and may rejoice in singing thy praises.

The Christian god is the 'god of the dead'; that's why they believe in 'heaven' and 'hell'.

The God that Jesus believed in is the "God of the living".

Re: Do you believe in the God of the Bible?
the bible says to beware of false prophets... and the funny part is that all false prophets are the so called witnesses.
in the bible.

But yet since its in the bible, people dont want to see that possibility!

The real bible has only one page! and it says Love!
To live is to believe in the power of dreams! To dream is to believe in the power of love! To love is to Know the truth!
The Desire to Be fuel the belief that you Are which ignite the Will to Become which bring back forth the desire to be...
Let it be-come you! It means Stop seeking your higher self! It is seeking you! Stand still in your mind to calm the waters of your mind and then it shall find you, so you can ride those waves together!
your true self lies somewhere between your heart and your consciousness. It is called the heart consciousness, which is the creator, which is you!
The heart create the emotions and our mind evoke its purpose, from which we dream the life we live in order to imagine the nature of reality and finally remember love!

The highest Purpose of our mind is the ability to Forget! Go on and Forgive yourself!
There is no love in truth but there is truth in love!
Be authentic, nobody else can do it for you!

Sure I believe in god. But the god depicted in the bible has long since been proven to be a being. A person. And god is not a person.

Not saying people should t read the bible once like any other book. I read it cover to cover and found it fascinating. But only a pathetic mind would worship it. True god is not even mentioned once in the bible.

Re: Do you believe in the God of the Bible?
It's quite obvious that the god(s) of the bible were the Annunaki, those space beings who towered over humans and forced them to do their bidding. It's also obvious to thinking people that the bible was written by men who were combining legend and their own opinions, as well as some facts, until the priests took over and made a religion of it in order to control civilization, which they still do today.

I believe there's a universal God and not a personal one that organized religion created. A universal God would be a force of consciousness that just is. I like to think it is the one that created our soul (energy), which is eternal, the same way all energy is eternal; it just changes form.

Earth life is temporary experience and our real home is in a higher dimension where we exist as pure energy, or pure consciousness, if you will. We come to earth for soul growth because t is easier to do in the 3rd dimension. There are so many negative pitfalls to overcome that aren't available in the higher dimensions.

Whereas religion preaches fear (of burning in hell eternally for not obeying the church), spirituality teaches soul growth. In the spiritual world there is no right or wrong; there is only experience. No biblical heaven or hell. Maybe our souls reside on whatever rung of the spiritual ladder, not unlike children in different grades in school.

Because there are so many paths and so many scenarios, no one religion or "path" can claim to be "the one." No individual can say that someone is on the wrong path because we are all on our own paths, and we are all on different levels. Badmouthing any one path will only set your soul back. It may feel good emotionally in a debate now but you'll have to make up for it when you leave this life. Look forward to your own salvation and others will take care of theirs. Help someone along the way and you automatically elevate yourself and them. Do unto others is a law of the universe.

Re: Do you believe in the God of the Bible?
"the God of the Bible" was at first the murderous, jealous Jehovah of the Jews in the Old Testament, then became the kindly Father of Jesus in the New Testament. they are two entirely different things and that is not surprising since christianity is nothing but a made-up religion, using a philosophy that draws from Buddhism and Stoicism, and necessarily requiring some sort of heritage to be taken seriously as a "religion" at all, it swiped one from the Jews.

I don't believe in any of the other gods for the same reasons they have been discarded and why nobody believes them today. they were only stories.

Wats your problem with the 10 commandments? I mean, those are the basic rules laid down by the God of the bible. They all make alot of sense to me. Theres no reason NOT to follow them. When it gets down to it, the God of the bible is all about love, and he gave us guidelines on how to live lives in love and respect for our fellow man. Jesus in the new testament said to love God with all your heart, and to love your neighbor as yourself. Sounds like the best way to do it in my opinion. I don't have any problems with that, and i believe in the loving God of the Bible and his son
Jesus.

Re: Do you believe in the God of the Bible?
I follow the religion of the Pythagorean Illuminati, it is called Illumination.

They teach about what they call 'The Singularity,' in which all 'things' are inter-connected.

A black hole is a Singularity, it is a bridge between the dimensional & the dimensionless, for lack of a better description, it can also be called 'God.'

We are all made of this Singularity, hence we all are of 'God.'

The God of Abraham is none other than the Demiurge, Satan. He is deluded into thinking he is God, but is just the supreme epitome of narcissism. It's all about me, me, me!

It says so clearly in the bible! I AM A JEALOUS GOD!!

If God was the all-powerful perfect creator, why would he be so desperately insecure?

The evidence against Jehovah, furnished by direct quotations from the Bible, is overwhelming and unarguable. His guilt can be established beyond any reasonable doubt. This monster attempted to exterminate the entire human race in the event known as The Flood. He allowed eight chosen people to survive: Noah and his family. So, given that the survivors were hand-picked by him, why has humanity again fallen into total evil? This time it was nothing to do with Adam and Eve. This time it was entirely Jehovah's responsibility and choice.

The answer to the riddle is that Jehovah himself is irredeemably evil. The ancient Gnostics long ago concluded that the God of the Old Testament was the Devil. Why has the rest of the world been so slow on the uptake?

yes...He is the only true God....Creator of the Universe...He wants a relationship with each person.

He wants everyone to be forgiven...accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior so we can live with Him forever when we die.

God loves you..
