Anyone else figured out that some Dr.'s use pain to control you?
So about 10 days ago after a move, I have back/leg pain. Having had 2 back surgeries, I decide to go see a Chiropractor. He has a system not covered by insurance. I go for an x-rays, and ask for a referral to an MD to prescribe an RX for pain. I go see him, and he prescribes a muscle relaxer and a steroid.
I go back to the Chiropractor and ask why they did not give me anything for the pain. His reply was "that's what he does. The other stuff just mask the problem. To take care of the pain we need you to commit for 20 treatments @ $8000." Which is not covered by my insurance. (Blue Cross/Blue Shield)
I understand treating the root cause of the pain, but WTF? That is why they are called PAIN MEDS, to mask the pain.
So I end up in the ER a week later. Stay away from Lordex Spine Institute.
