Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it. - Buddha (Kalama Sutta.)

yup, just driving back from Dorking to Croydon, at 1.40am, 2 bright flashes at the Banstead Crossroads and again on the road from Banstead to Purley.

If they were lightening then it was weird arse lightening, no thunder, no lightening arc, just flashes across the entire sky....

Re: uk explosions
My unc... my source tells me it is testing of an ultrasonic WMD.

No not that kind of WMD! Though in a roundabout way it is. We're talking a Weather Manipulation Device aimed at discharging incoming arctic weather with high frequency sound waves.

It has been in the works for several years. The Met Office was in on it, and knowing full well severe arctic weather was brewing for this weekend tonight was the perfect time, so a story was cooked up that tonight would see stormy weather in the UK of the rainy variety, when in fact a severe arctic blast was about to hit us, something that will continue for the next 50 years or so as we enter a mini ice age. If all went to plan the arctic blast would be dissipated and would turn to less problematic wet weather, proving to be a win-win situation.

So wheels were put in motion and tonight the device has been tested. I've no idea as to the results of yet, I will ask my Unc..., my source tomorrow, initial indications look good.

Obviously I just made all that horseshit up. But it could have been true!

Are you just joking, or did you really see ufo's along with the lights, if so can you describe them?

Thanks for that :D Something about this flash doesn't sit right with me. Its over far to greater distance for it to be lightning or a transformer.

I'm from Surrey too. I remember epsom downs being a great UFO hotspot. Saw my first triangular craft there.

Any updates as to what it could have been?
