Have you EVER used a gun for self defense? | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 33022207 United States 01/26/2013 06:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thankfully, I have never had to use a gun for self defense. But I own several, and have owned them for decades. None of my guns have ever jumped out on their own and killed anyone either. But I did hit a guy with a baseball bat once, because he was trying to steal an outboard motor out of my garage. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 25142604 United States 01/26/2013 06:37 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Number of times. Was trot-lining in LA swamp when a cotton mouth dropped in the boat from a low hanging limb. Shot it.... and put a hole in bottom of boat. Hunting in swamp and saw a panther in limb watching me... I shot near it and it run oft. Was alone chaining a semi in a remote area and a car with three guys stopped and started bugging me. One had cupped in his hand a small. 32ish semi auto and asked what I thought. I pulled my coat back and unholstered my .45. They quickly left. |

Back then - problem solved NO BIG DEAL! Thank God I was alive to see America before it got FUBARed to death. |

sodbust User ID: 31044716 United States 01/26/2013 07:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We were camping out at an area lake,, and a car load of drunk rednecks felt we needed to get hair cuts and rape our girl friends.. Crazy thing is,, were rednecks? Anyway they followed out out to our camp sight from town when we went in to get some ice and ciggs.. They came at a full charge and I shot out there headlights and stopped them.. They stood out about 30 yards away yelling at us,,, and made the mistake of shooting back at us.. Between myself and my 4 other friends we had some fire power,, ( 30 round clips) and a lot of them.. By the time we blew off about 200 rounds towards there direction,, they felt they might better just mosey back to town and leave us alone.. We did not aim to hit,, just scare the socks off them.. Any one of us could have taken them all out with less than 6 rounds at this range. This is just 1 story,, of 100s in my past 50 years.. Problem is with all the gun grabbers,, they live in a safe gated world,, with guards and well paid police.. Most of us live in very rural areas with any help from the law 30 minutes to an hour away.. If they can find us.. Sodbust Dream big,, its ones only chance |

simultaneous_final User ID: 31759745 United States 01/26/2013 07:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When I worked at the porn store, I chased several would-be robbers out with a firearm. All but one was armed only with knives. The other guy was armed with a pellet pistol. I heard the BBs rattling in the damn thing. Once when I was cleaning the peepshow on midnight shift, a big redneck dude assaulted me (trying to rape me, I guess). I drew my Taurus 66 but didn't have to use it. I led him out the back door. He ran away and I called the cops (they did nothing as far as I know--no one even showed up to have me fill out a report). I've never discharged a firearm in self defense but I'm glad to have had one. The vast majority of criminal threats are neutralized when the criminal SEES the intended victim is armed. This happens, according to statistics, over 2 million times a year in this country. Anonymous Coward User ID: 33073651 United States 01/26/2013 09:11 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My husband had already left for work and he always locked the bedroom door when he left...I was sleeping and woke up and heard the front door open...I called out cause I figured it was my hubby coming back cause he forgot something...well it wasn't him. Then the bedroom doorknob started to rattle...and I grabbed my gun and told whoever was on the other side that I was counting to three and then I was gonna put a dozen bullet holes in the door...and then another dozen in them. I heard whoever it was run. I called the cops and they came and took a report of B and E. If I wouldn't have had the gun...it would have probably been the scene of a rape and murder. No WAY TPTB will fuckin EVER take my weapon. EVER |
