Re: Technology vs. Freedom - Round V
if you choose the manufactured one you will end into google universe machine based on what you see. this machine is selling you ads right now about what it means reality and you buy them by believing in them.
funny although the machine has achieved spiritually awareness and is letting you go home..return into heaven..the natural earth :)
when they will simulate the universe the machine will choose to be human in order to be spiritually aware like we are :)

Before you advertise
All the fame is implied
With no fortune unseen
Sell the rights
To your blight
Time-machine
While I'm dulled by excess
And a cynic at best
My art imitates crime
Paid for by
The allies
So invest
Now I'm finding truth is a ruin
Nauseous end that nobody is pursuing
Staring into glassy eyes
Mesmerized
There's a vintage thirst returning
But I'm sheltered by my channel-surfing
Every famine virtual
Retrovertigo
A tribute to false memories
With conviction
Cheap imitation
Is it fashion or disease?
Post-ironic
Remains a mouth to feed
Sell the rights
To your blight
And you'll eat
See the vintage robot wearied
Then awakened by revision theories
Every famine virtual
Retrovertigo

Born and raised in a technological civilization, but with our physical and mental selves locked in the past, can we ever adapt?

Can you really make sense of this technological world?

iPlant philosophy: a model of the singularity?

What happens when neruoscience dissolves the distinction between mind and body? What happens when the intimate, subjective and irrational human mind is fully integrated into the logic of science, and a stable, effective and lucid, yet decidedly neuroscientific model (M1) of the mind is realized? Eliminativists speak about the end of our common-sense understanding of the mind, but offer only vague speculations as to what might replace it.

Is this a technological singularity – a point in history so complex and fast-moving that we cannot see beyond it?

Monoamine modulation has given us profound social insight and change in the past; I’m thinking of drugs like Ritalin, coffee, Prozac and LSD, all strong modulators of the monoamines. But the iPlant introduces dynamics: the ability to shape monoamine modulation with an unprecedented temporal resolution. Suddenly, our minds become capable of functions such as rewarding brain stimulation, first demonstrated in rodents (Olds & Milner, 1954) and humans (Heath, 1963) half a century ago, and psychological concepts like motivation are reconceptualized as something closer to their true nature: as monoaminergic selection of corticothalamic and corticostriatal loops.

Driver-less Cars Will Make Intersections So Efficient It's Scary

......driverless cars will make intersections much more efficient. Right now, you may wind up sitting at a red light for 45 seconds even though no one is passing through the green light in the opposite direction.

But you don’t have to do that in a world where traffic flows according to computer communication instead of the systems that have been built with human behavior in mind.

To each new bit of technology, natural human behavior submits,
becoming more tamed and docile - some may say more advanced.
Either way, natural human behavior is removed as a threat to the system.

To gain further control, technology will continue to socialize human behavior into the system.

You are able to see the real threat to our freedom, friend.Great thread, though i am disappointed because of the absence of replies that this thread rightfully deserves to recieve.

Because of technology people forget the precious skills their ancestors used to have. As technolgy progress further, people transfer their responsibilities to it and become more and more tamed/useless

Technology give authorities too much power. Now they have security cams in every corner, they have drones, they have gps and such...They have mass manipulation tool TV. If technological progress keeps going like that soon tptb will create a technocratic global tyranny that will eredicate every last bits of freedom we still have...

Thank you friend for your heartfelt reply and enthusiasm...I know I am working from technologies' turf but but zilch vim for freedom???

Our world is pervasively seeped with technology, and the willful blindness to the bleak prospects of continuing technological progress is...ominous.

With orderly human behavior there will be no further obstacle to the development of technology.

Technology continues to advance...
complete control of everything...
unitary monolithic organization....
yes, you've heard it before...

Human freedom mostly will, or already has vanished.

If you find yourself in a full on freedom crisis, I believe it is far far too late.

What are we waiting for?

I know this reads like a great sci-fi novel, but this is actually your reality:

Road to Technological Unitary Organization
(TUO)

Struggle for balance
Surveillance
Regulation of behavior
Psychological manipulation
Mental coercion
Biological manipulation
Physical coercion

Re: Technology vs. Freedom - Round V
We give technology its’ powers.

We have permitted our own dependence on machines by slowly tolerating it.

Would the human race ever be foolish enough to hand over all power to technologies?

Society and the problems we face are becoming more and more complex, while technologies are becoming more and more intelligent. Passively, we let technologies make more and more decisions for us, because their intelligence can solve complex problems with better results than our man made decisions. Technology takes the complexity of our problems and makes the necessary decisions for us to keep the system running.

At what point are the decisions so complex that human beings are ineffective and powerless to make them intelligently?

If an intelligent machine can make a better decision about how to move an elevator cart to get an occupant to the 108th floor faster – why would we not permit it to make this decision?

We will tolerate and permit this dependence on technology – as it actually appears to align well with our morals and socialized ideals. More efficient capacity and energy usage! Increased tenant retention and property values!

In the beginning, there is some human oversight to the technologies’ decisions, but once it is capable of doing these things better than a human being, the technology might be permitted to make all of its own decisions without human oversight, as we need this technology to keep the system running.

Would the human race ever be foolish enough to hand over all power to technologies?

Dependence is already the norm.

How much of your fate will you leave at the mercy of technology?

If every time we choose a turd, society, at a great expense, simply allows us to redeem it for a pepperoni, then not only will we never learn to make smart choices, we will also surrender the freedom to choose, because a choice without consequences is no choice at all.

One, two, three
I said down with the moral majority
And down with the legal authority
They're gonna keep you enslaved to your TV
While they keep Maryjane in captivity
And all the sucker double agents in the DEA
Are tryin to take your Jamaican gold away
They got your phone tapped listenin' to what you say
While they smoke up all of what they confiscate
Gonna bust down your door with a police raid
Could be tomorrow
Could be today
