shelves completely devoid of .22 ammo
Went to the local "wal-mart" esque everything store with a sporting goods section, needed a few things and I always grab a box of .22 when I go in there.

Couldn't find a single box today and clerk said they're out everywhere with no word on when more will be available...
Anyone else seeing this?
Just store-runs, or something else up?

Just curious

Re: shelves completely devoid of .22 ammo
Its been that way for weeks now. I think its just an insane level of consumer demand. It'll settle down once Congress actually does whatever those idiots plan to do.

That said, my local Walmart got in a shipment of CCI Mini Mags early this morning. According to the guy working there, they get .22 in every now and then, but it has been selling out almost as soon as it hits the shelf. They had already sold out of the 325 round bulk packs by the time I got there, but they still had six 100 round boxes on the shelf. I bought three, which was the limit anyway.

Most ranges have ammo with a two box limit (unless you're shooting).

And that's one to grow on!

Wrong!
If you do not have ammo at this point or a gun you will NEVER find these things on ANY shelf again!
PERIOD!!!
No more to be produced. I know these things.

So, if there's an increased demand for ammo, why aren't the manufacturers making more?

It could be the start of the economic recovery in the US!

Unless, like everything else, the ammo is made in China...

But seriously, do you think the Gov. (oops sorry, you don't have a Government, you have an ADMINISTRATION) has bought up all the ammo, then stopped the manufacture of any more???

From what I've heard, they're making it as fast as they can (same for gun manufacturers). They just can't keep up with demand, which is insane since the figure I saw was a billion rounds PER WEEK. Granted, military and law enforcement are given priority, but still.

Re: shelves completely devoid of .22 ammo
I have bought more ammo in the past two months than in the last five yrs but I've paid out the ass for it

I have a bunch ordered from Cabella's and check on it last week. This is just a single product and I was #700 out of 1000 orders and the guy ahead of me ordered 40 boxes of 50rds.

That's not counting all the other manufactures and all the other types and grains of ammo

Re: shelves completely devoid of .22 ammo
It just makes sense that ammo is gone due to the massive rise in gun purchases. The gun shelves are getting pretty bare at this point, ammo will be coming back online sooner than later.

Ammo isn't in Feinfucks AWB, so all should work out for the most part once the gun noobs finish clearing out the shelves and then forget about their guns and stick them under the bed for the next decade or so.

Went to my local academy down here in houston today to see what things looked like. Only 270, 30-06, and shotgun shells. They used to have 1 full isle of ammo from .22 to shotgun shells. Today it was reduced to half an isle and the empty spaces where the .22, 223, .38, .40, .45 were normally stocked ( but nearly empty over the past month) were now for gun cleaning kits, cases, etc....looks like theyre not planning on having anymore of the said calibers for the foreseeable future. People were scrambling for shotgun ammo.....

My closest Wally bare shelved for a month except for bird shot. They get 4 shipments a week and the incoming ammo never hits the shelf. There are several waiting when it opens at 7 but they never get. 22 anymore.
I have the closest 4 Wally's on speed dial as they have only raised prices 10%. Allows me the luxury to continue target for fun.

Yep. In fact, I have a feeling that we're going to see a major crash in the gun/ammo market once this shit blows over. 'Oversaturated' doesn't even begin to describe the market that will exist once this calms down.
