Keep in mind that the entire history of police and police forces is not exactly a stellar one despite the modern day PR machine. Keep in mind the wild west cowboy types that shot it out in the streets with the bad boys and probably did in as many good folks as bad guys. And don't forget the bluebellies of the prohibition that worked security for the likes of Al Capone and Bugsy Segal.

I come from a cop family and have seen a lot on the inside and it not always pretty. My departed Uncle was Deputy Chief of a large city PD and told me many times how he had more trouble with his own cops than from the bad guys. Personally, I am more afraid of the cops than the bad guys because with the bad guys I can at least defend myself and they generally can't call in backup.

It's just another sign of our collapsing society.
