They are saying 150-200 now

Brazil nightclub fire 'leaves 200 dead'

As many as 200 people were killed in a nightclub fire caused by a pyrotechnics show in the southern Brazilian city of Santa Maria, local media reported on Sunday.

Ughhh, I remember seeing that video. Makes me much more aware of my surroundings now.

Sorry OP but you have both scenarios wrapped into one both in Brazil.

The one you speak of here is the fireworks fiasco where 90 are dead, the other, where 200 are dead is in a club in Brazil.

How can that be when the fireworks fiasco was a hell of along way from the nightclub?

Yea Santa Maria is where the club is but their zoning restrictions require them to be a long distance from the city.

It looks like an absolute death trap of the highest order. No rear or side exits, sandwiched in between other buildings, NO windows! and one small entrance door.

What I remember the most about the Station Night Club fire video is all the people stacked on top of each other in the doorway, not able to move and others behind trying to climb over. So tragic!

I've only ever been in a club once before in my life, a few years back for a friends BDAY and he bummed out about going to a outdoor rave so ended up at some metal/goth club instead.
Can't say I was too impressed having to wait minutes in-line for overpriced watered-down beer (this after paying once already on the door), and then having to endure the drunken idiots for 5 hours of the night.

I'll stick to the pub thanks, and even that is VERY rarely. once/twice a year if that.
